What's the deal with Democrats' love for MS13?

Do you remember in the 2016 presidential race how Trump always highlighted MS13 with Hillary and the Democrats? It was like he was needling Hillary, basically saying, "we know your boy Podesta hired MS13 to kill Seth Rich".
Then you had the situation with Nancy Pelosi, Democrats 'trying to defend' MS-13.
Currently, Maryland's Senator Van Hollen is going out of his way to free MS13 deportees in El Salvador and New York's Senator Corey Booker wants to join him.
What is the Democrat infatuation with MS13? Why do you guys love them so much?
Help me out. I really don't get it.

This has nothing to do with MS-13 or this criminal they want back.
It's all to disrupt and ruin Trump's presidency.
They did the same thing last time but everyone thought since he won by such a huge margin this time maybe they would cool it but apparently not.

The best I can come up with is that democrats will align MS13 as misunderstood Hispanics. Thus they equate hatred of MS13 with hating an ethnic group. The democrats don't care about all the evil they do so long that they can sell this narrative to their constituents.
