Non-spoiler question about the White Lotus series

I like to go into new shows totally clean slate so I have intentionally avoided looking at pretty much anything relating to this show. I know it is highly acclaimed so I recently watched Season 1 and enjoyed it. Two questions:
-Is there any carryover with storylines between seasons? Or is each season a complete standalone with new people, new stories, new everything?
-How would you non-spoilery rank the 3 seasons?
I liked season 1 and it held my interest but didn't necessarily knock my socks off. If the consensus is "S1 is far and away the best it blows the other 2 out of the water" then I probably won't continue watching. If the others are just as good or better though I'm going all-in.

I enjoyed all 3 seasons. I believe the consensus is season 2 is the best

2 1 3 is my order, but they are all good. The stories do blend in, but you will not know which ones until the next season and so forth.

Season 2 has Christopher from the Sopranos. The Dad in TWL was in Scarface (Drug guy who was hung off the Helicopter) are in it. Anyway if you like gangster shows thought I would share.

The Dad in season 2 is F Murray Abraham who won an Oscar for playing Salieri in Amadeus.

My thoughts are the shows have gotten a bit more serious in tone with each season.
I thought S1 had some dark humor, season two not so much and season 3 was almost thriller level seriousness.

For the most part, it's new stories. But there is one character from S1 in S2, and one character from S2 in S3. That's about it.

I rank them 1, 3, 2. But I liked all three. I also seem to like 3 more than most did though...and all three are good.

I'm in the same boat with you. Don't understand the Season 3 "hate" if you can call it that. I loved the cast in Season 3 without naming anyone due to the spoiler free nature of this thread

That's not really true. Two characters from Season 1 are in season 2 and two characters from season 1 are in season 3

They're all 3 great! I'd rank it 2,1,3. It's funny, dark, and thrilling all at the same time.

This is so accurate. I miss the comedy aspect of Season1.
Liked them all, but I rank the seasons: 1,3,2
