Seems obvious to me. America is in better shape because:

1).Trump has 90 countries coming to Washington to negotiate deals.

2) Trump has apparently managed to isolate China by continuing to play hardball with them.

3) Imo, China needs America more than America needs China.

That's my basic take on it. What do you think?

China’s economy is really unstable and ~25% of their trade is with the United States. It’s going to take a miracle for them not to crash their economy.

Basically Trump is raising awareness to the world if you trade with Chyna you will get shafted. That in turn awakes other countries to not increase trade with them else you lose.

The leftist press will continue to prop up Chyna via scare tactics. But Chyna is hugely disadvantaged and as we buy less they have lots of unemployed workers. Unemployed workers can’t buy food and get restless. Restless people in commie countries is a recipe for revolt.

I’ve also read some musings their population is over inflated. They do that for everything so likely true. Maybe its 1.1B? Still a lot but very possible they have less than said.

Good point about China possibly having some serious internal problems right now, both economic and social. The ONE THING that bothers me about that is that I don't trust the evil CCP. If things were to get really desperate for them, could they possibly do something really crazy? I hope not, but who knows?

I’d say the USA, but our citizens do not have the resolve.

Even half of this board, which is very MAGA, has already buckled under 1 week of pressure.

Not even financial pressure, only media pressure.

we dont have to buy from them

they have to continue to manufacture things

the slowing of dollars into China really hurts

the potential falling Yuan just speeds up the problems for them

they need to maintain 1Y to $.07 to stay afloat

The USA had the upperhand. The USA has the biggest purchasing power in the world. China needs the USA mora than the other way around.

Look at the trade deficit. That tells you everything you need to know.

Are you intentionally ignoring the news for some reason?
quote:

In a significant move to counter increasing trade pressures from the United States, China, Japan, and South Korea have decided to unite against rising tariffs imposed by the US. These three major Asian economies held their first economic discussions in five years, resulting in an agreement aimed at strengthening their trade relations and enhancing cooperation on supply chains.

A central focus of the discussions was to enhance supply chain cooperation between China, Japan, and South Korea. Supply chains play a vital role in ensuring that countries can acquire the necessary materials and products to produce goods. By strengthening their collaboration, these countries aim to ensure that trade remains uninterrupted, even in the face of growing US tariffs.

We’re isolating ourselves. Trump lies. Everyone will band against us if he keeps up the stupid rhetoric. He’s taking this country down so much faster than anyone expected.

China was in a death spiral before the Trump tariffs. They won't recover from this. Even if Xi bends the knee, it will only delay the inevitable collapse, not stop it.

US.

China is highly dependent upon the US whereas we can survive easily without them.

We buy from them while we fund a chunk of our GDP with government debt. They buy our debt. It’s a symbiotic relationship.
