Why can’t we have the same sports reporting that’s exhibited in the Masters in other sport

Explain?
I hate golf but it’s so pleasing to have leftist DEI shite removed. It’s watchable for this reason alone!

Are you serious or just seeing how many can get banned in 24 hours?

Masters refuses to bend any knee when it comes to their tradition - it’s refreshing

The Masters' audience is pretty 'monolithic'

Because Augusta National Golf Club owned every particle of that event and you do it their way, or you don’t do it.

Yup, they're the absolute definition of "frick you" money

Golf doesn't tend to attract the street cred crowd - therefore, announcers who are competent in the ways of English are welcomed.

I don’t even think it’s that the club has the money. For as big as it is, The Masters is a cheap event and membership fees are not stupid. You can buy all 7 sandwiches on the menu for a total of $18.
They care more about autonomy, exclusivity, and the purity of the game than they do the $.
ETA: It’s a club that effectively told a member who was the sitting POTUS and a 5-Star General to pound sand when he complained about a tree.

I think this is pretty accurate.
But I don't watch or play golf. I respect the hell out of the pros and what they can do and the amount of time they spend in development of their skillset and abilities, don't get me wrong. But I can think of about ten thousand things I'd rather do than play golf and twice as many things I'd rather do than watch other people play golf.
I guarantee, the fish are biting somewhere.

Why do people watch golf?

It represents everything that America should be. It gives me hope.

Because of days like this.

Wrong. They caved and let women in. Remember Condaleeza? She's a member.

When your choices are Golf , early season MLB, end of NBA season , the Masters can be some what appealing for a weekend. Most times golf is as appealing as flies fuking.

Yeah, mostly golfers.

Small concession - but the actual tournament, nah

Wrong. They eventually let women in, but it was on their own terms, as is everything they do. It was nine years after Martha Burk tried to be relevant, and the National went without television sponsors for a couple of years because they didn't need them.
Annika's a member now, too.

Burk challenged Augusta National’s all-male membership, and Johnson responded with a terse, three-paragraph reply and issued a statement to the media that outlined the club’s position. He famously said the private club would not change at the “point of a bayonet.”
“Our club has historically enjoyed a camaraderie and kindred spirit that we think is the heart and soul of our club. And that makes it difficult for us to consider change,” Johnson told The Augusta Chronicle at the height of the controversy. “Now a woman could very well, as I’ve said before, become a member of Augusta. But that is some time out in the future. And in the meantime, we’ll hold dear our traditions, and our constitutional right, to choose and to associate.”
The controversy escalated as Burk threatened to boycott the tournament and its sponsors, but Johnson responded by releasing the club’s TV sponsors for two years. A planned protest during the 2003 Masters by Burk and her supporters fizzled.

The pga tour has been whining and bitching ever since the guys left for LIV. A constant bitch fest. Some of them are unbearable.
They handled it badly and I was surprised. They need to move on
