Between studs wall safe question.

Can you find one that has locking bolts on top, middle and bottom?
I keep seeing them with all three locking bolts in the middle to where someone could easily cantilever the bottom with a pry.
Amazon wall safe.

If you have someone working your between the studs safe with a crowbar you have bigger issues. These are really more of a good way to ‘hide’ a safe in a smaller location that’s convenient with light security. It’s not the most secure. For example, someone could just take a sawzall and cut the studs and remove the entire safe.

I know the major companies make safe doors that are the real deal. A nested safe with a real locking door would make the door so thick that the interior usable space would be near zero in a 4" wall. I suspect that's why they aren't made like normal safe doors.

Do you fear you are being targeted by professional thieves? I feel like you should be more concerned with the typical smash and grab type guys, unless for some reason you are storing the holy grail or declaration of independence in that safe. Because I gotta be honest, I have zero worry about the contents of my $1000 500lb gun safe being stolen.

I’m not on a slab so they can cut the floor too.
It’s different degrees of how much do I want to protect the safe.

A friend has one that looks like an electrical service panel. Even has a "high voltage" sticker on it. He installed in a walk in closet, and I'd be surprised if a thief even noticed it, much less thought it was a safe.

An angle grinder and 10 minutes on the side of the safe and you're in...

That in-wall slim safe is nice. Could easily be concealed.

I installed a Barska version for some friends after they had a break-in a few years ago. Fairly solid and would definitely work against the typical smash and grab type burglaries. Personally, I bought and refurbished an old Mosler wall-mount safe as the steel is much thicker and the S&G mechanical combination lock is more trustworthy than any biometric/electronic lock on sub-$300 RSC.

I have never thought about such a thing…this is pretty damn cool. I assum it screws from the inside of the safe into the studs. The face flange would prevent cutting the studs.
