Listen to her Best of Both Worlds podcast thru Instagram and Youtube. She was quiet, off social media, tired and needed rest with her family. She took the Elite 8 loss hard, Final 4 was her goal. She had good conversation with Kim, and they both agreed this year will be her best year. She was not ready for Wnba draft yet, because she could develop more. She never thought about going into the transfer portal. She wants to graduate at LSU. She loves Louisiana people. She is excited about Kate Koval coming to LSU. She believes players should transfer to the college that's best for them, not the NIL money.

Great news! Hats off to coach Mulkey for helping her to sort through all of that stuff. We want whatever is best for the individual player!

She’s a rare athlete that has her own NIL footprint apart from the university she represents.
She makes way more off her actual NIL than any school would pay a female athlete.
So it’s easy for her to say fit is more important than money. She will get paid wherever she goes. Most wbb players will not.
Regardless, I think she’s a great ambassador for LSU, and I’m excited she’s coming back.

They said she might dip, take flight in the wind,
But Flau’Jae said “Nah, I’m ridin’ ‘til the end.”
Purple and gold, that’s the fam, that’s the pride,
Bayou Barbie with the bars, yeah, she never gon' hide.

LSU stand up, we ain’t losin’ our queen,
She stayin’ on the court, still chasin’ the dream.
2025? She grindin’, no rest,
But in 2026, she comin' back, say less!

(Hook)
Flau’Jae stay, she ain’t goin’ away,
Tigers on the hunt, we gon’ eat all day.
Championship mode, we don’t play,
2026 — yeah, we takin’ that bay!

Flau’Jae stay, legends don’t leave,
Loyal to the soil, she still got tricks up her sleeve.
Back in the paint, with the flame in her chest,
She came for the crown, now we ballin’ with the best!

(Verse 2)
Bars and buckets, she a double threat,
Spit fire in the booth, leave the court all wet.
Coach said “Run it,” she said “Bet,”
Now the nation on watch, they ain’t seen nothin’ yet.

She got next, but she stay in the now,
Put respect on her name — take a knee, take a bow.
Final Four dreams, now they real on the floor,
2026 rings when she walk through the door!

(Hook)
Flau’Jae stay, she ain’t goin’ away,
Tigers on the hunt, we gon’ eat all day.
Championship mode, we don’t play,
2026 — yeah, we takin’ that bay!

Flau’Jae stay, legends don’t leave,
Loyal to the soil, she still got tricks up her sleeve.
Back in the paint, with the flame in her chest,
She came for the crown, now we ballin’ with the best!

(Outro)
From the mic to the court, she redefine grind,
LSU locked in, it’s her time to shine.
Flau’Jae Johnson, yeah, remember the name,
2026 champs — that’s the claim to the fame!

This is one of the several huge positives of the NIL era. Players who may have opted for the draft have stayed - baseball, football, basketball.
It also means a team like LSU (men’s basketball) can flip from bad to really good much more quickly.

NIL, in my opinion, has been an overall positive thing for college sports.

That transfer portal, though…..

What??

She was tired? She is doing 40 different commercials? Idc about women’s basketball (it is an economic drain of over $8.5 mil on our school), but Flau’jae is very likable and I did not want her to leave. However, her saying she is tired? She is putting out rap albums and trying to get features and trying to link up with every possible brand…if she doesn’t want to be tired then focus on the sport. No way I am the only one who sees this? Hearing an athlete say they are tired while making MILLIONS on their side hustle is ABSURD

I’m sorry, but if any NFL or NBA superstar lost in the conference championship then said “they were upset but just tired and need a break” they would get destroyed.

Why are you so taken aback? People can't get tired and take a break? That happens to most people in all walks of life and they take... vacations! Take a break, recharge and then get back it...

She is a rapper and was signed by Roc Nation before the fame brought by LSU. More mental drivel…

Name one of her rapp songs without googling it , I'm so happy she felt sorry enough for us to stay and hang around LSU for another year.

It doesn’t matter HOW she got tired. The emotional drain of coming up short in her basketball life was the straw. I’m glad it means so much to her to represent LSU, and that she wants to come back to win it all. Geaux Fleaux.
