Sen Kennedy favors zero tariffs.

This morning, John Kennedy stated the ideal is to have no tariffs with trading partners,especially those countries who are traditionally our friends. He also
recognizes that the current “trade war” will hurt small businesses and farmers.

So he favors our trading partners having no tariffs on our goods. Do you think they’ll do that spontaneously, or might we have to pressure them? How might that pressure be applied?

Eloquent. But to humor you, I’m pretty sure Europe offered something like a “zero for zero” compromise to the current administration, but was denied. Getting countries to drop their tariffs doesn’t appear to be the long term goal. At least, not the exclusive goal.
