State police in Mercer County charged a West Middlesex man in the recent holdups of Amish buggies at gunpoint.
Police believe the heists were committed using an airsoft gun that was a replica of a Glock.
The police arrested Todd Allen Baker, 33, who faces one count each of robbery and criminal attempt at robbery.

He is being held in the Mercer County jail on a $100,000 bond while awaiting an April 17 preliminary hearing.
The holdups reportedly occurred March 27 in Lackawannock Township and in Wilmington Township, Mercer County.
A criminal complaint details how a man wearing a medical mask approached a buggy at gunpoint and ordered an occupant to hand over a wallet.
The man then left in a black sedan. Another buggy driver reported a similar incident on Leesburg Station Road, but the masked man fled when the horse did not stop, the report said.
The police received tips about the man’s identity, and they found the suspect vehicle in Lowellville, Ohio. Another occupant in the car reportedly cooperated with the investigation. Police reportedly found an airsoft gun in the car that was a replica of a Glock 17.
Baker reportedly made off with $90 in the robbery of the wallet.

Out of all the people in the world to rob, he picked an Amish fella. They still use horses for transportation. How much was he expecting to get from them?

Could be, but the Amish buggies look just like this in the area of the hold ups.
Go visit the West Middlesex, PA Diner. Very good food. Drive up the road a bit to the cheese factory. You will see buggies that are now medal looking nowadays.

Do they use banks or is it all cash?

The Amish use banks.
Keep in mind the Amish are not part of a monolithic society/culture. Your question is like asking if Christians drink alcohol or dance.

I gotcha. I really don't know much about them so I wasn't sure.

My ex wife’s grandfather had a farm in Southern Indiana and he would hire Amish to work on his farm. He held the Amish in high esteem.
Also, her grandfather was an LSU fan. He told me that in the 50s, before TV, he used to listen to LSU football games on radio. The LSU games were on a clear channel and reached many parts of the country. He said he specifically recalled Cannon’s punt return against Ole Miss.

Many Amish, particularly old order, do direct to customer business and deal strictly in cash. They also buy everything in cash. If they're on the road they're doing business of some kind and they will have cash on them.
