State Farm is killing me on fricking auto insurance, feel like I have too much insurance.

2023 VK Atlas and a 2016 GMC Sierra.

Liability/Bodily Injury: 100k/300k
Property Damage: 100k
Comprehensive:
Uninsured motorist - We live in Houston and messicans drive hammered with zero insurance
Bodily Injury: 50k/100k

TIA

I’d keep what you have as long as you can afford it. $100,000/$300,000 coverage is usually enough to avoid an excess judgment in most cases.

What if I told you that your collision covers your vehicle if an uninsured motorist hits you? Medical paid by health insurance

Why are you not shopping quotes every 6 months? It's super simple to switch car insurance companies. If you have been with a company for longer than a year I can 100% promise you can lower your rate by shopping around. State farm is notoriously high

Because you may actually sustain legitimate injuries that cause pain snd suffering (rare these days but it happens), and without UM coverage, you would not have a source of compensation.

I have never seen anyone who was in a car accident regret having purchased UM coverage.

Long term disability isn’t such a sure thing. The insurer will pay a doctor to say you aren’t disabled after paying out benefits for a few years.

Minimum liability. Whatever you have to have to be legal and that is it. Those crooks aren’t getting one more cent of my money.

You'd have to be a certified idiot to ride around South LA without UM.

I think last stat I saw was 60%+ were minimum liability or had no insurance.

And no, the pieces of crap don't feel bad about it at all.

He’s partially correct. Health insurance will cover injuries caused by a 3rd party as long as you lie about the cause of the injuries

I have 300/500/300 with UMI. I also have a $1M umbrella policy.

My auto deductible is $1K.

At least where I live UM and UIM coverage are some of the best values in insurance.
