New Orleans is famous around the world for food. Soon, the city’s restaurant scene will be getting new attention from a global brand that is a byword for culinary excellence.
The Michelin Guide today announced that it will begin assessing and ranking restaurants in New Orleans and around Louisiana for the first time.
Rankings, including potentially its coveted Michelin Stars, are set to be doled out later this year. Michelin’s reviewers, called inspectors, are already at work visiting restaurant for potential inclusion.
Louisiana isn’t alone. It will be part of a regional guide called the Michelin Guide American South that takes in five more states: Alabama, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee. This reflects a new approach from Michelin, which has previously turned its attention to individual cities or states as its guides expand in the U.S. The new guide, which will be online, will also include restaurant's in Michelin's Atlanta Guide, which was started in 2023.

Emeril's will get a star. Maybe Saint Germain and Dakar.
I'm sure Nashville and Charleston will have a few places that get them.

Revolution and August are good bets too.

August I am not 100% sure of for political reasons.
Revolution might but I think the other places are surer bets
Places like Commander's will get in on the Legacy lists, whatever its called
There's no doubt in my mind that some of Mason Hereford's places will get Bib Gourmand status for political reasons as well

Is this enough proof you can't rely on AI? Look at the corn, look at the faces of people 3, 4 (and check out her? arms), 6, 7, and 8. 10 people lifting a pot that weighs hundreds of pounds, eating it off the ground, FFS.

I zoomed in on her and couldn't stop laughing.

Dakar is going to get a star

Probably. Its probably the next lock after Emeril's, along with Saint Germain, although I'm not sure Saint Germain's service is up to Michelin's very formal standards.

I don't understand the center couple. Is that the crazy biker uncle with his arm around bigfoot?

The new version of Emeril’s is incredible. Top 3 meal I’ve had at a restaurant.

Hamas still has 0 SEC championships btw

Its the only place in LA that is a lock for a star and could get more than one.
Others would have to comment on places like Nashville or Charleston (I assume FIG in Charleston will get one, maybe Chubby Fish?)

In the top pic, what sort of mythical beast is that guy holding? And the old guy to his right...is that grown out ear hair that's flowing down his chest? And how in the furk does anyone in those photos peel crawfish with the effed up hands? Why is this taking place is some small town where inbreeding has run rampant?

Since reopening after covid?
Haven’t been since then but went a couple times in 2017/2018.
I thought it was really good but not michelin star good.

Emeril’s son runs it now and totally revamped the menu and restaurant. It’s a set tasting menu (there are 2) and is much higher end than past Emeril’s. My only complaint was that the banana cream pie was a mini version of its predecessor.

the Houston list was pretty half assed and only made getting a table at Nobie's harder
