Disappointing loss today but we all knew this team had deficiencies. Elite eight was about the limit for this team. Help is on the way though.

Divine Bourrage: A 6-0 guard from Davenport North HS (IA).
Bella Hines: A 5-10 guard from Eldorado HS (Albuquerque, NM).
ZaKiyah Johnson: A 6-1 wing from Sacred Heart Academy (Louisville, KY).
Grace Knox: A 6-3 wing/forward from Etiwanda HS (Rancho Cucamonga, CA).

LSU has a great returning core and I fully expect Kim Mulkey to hit the transfer portal to address glaring needs.

If the guard from Florida State is interested she is a definite take. She is a player and you have to somehow make room.

The big need is bigs. Del Rosario has to go. Seems like a good kid but she will never be more than what we have seen. I am not completely sold on Wolfenbarger. She is a big that doesn’t play big. She does have some skill and maybe she is a depth piece. S’ Mya has looked really good and will be a huge factor for the team going forward, but she is very slender.

It would be great if we could Serah Williams from Wisconsin. She should be priority number one. One more big would be nice but numbers might be tight. We are so guard heavy but I would hate to lose J. Richard, M. Sheppard or even K. Gilbert, even though she was infuriating today.

Sorry for the long post, but I think Kim Mulkey will have us back in the final four very soon and I think she has at least one more national title run before she retires.

We will be a better team without ball stopping Gilbert. I hope the staff can help her find a new home

Yes, she’ll be 22 years old later this year.

Well, if she goes, we need to push hard for the Florida St. girl.

Part of the reason she might come is because her and Flau’Jae are friends.

Had a poor portal class and hs signing class last year. One big who can’t play here and 4 guards who don’t bring much to the table. Lost out on Strong, Edwards, etc. Need portal kids WHO CAN PLAY here and not just fill out a roster. The Reese’s, Morrow’s, HVL’s of the portal not the kind we signed last year who are very average at best. That class or lack there of is what cost this team a final 4 appearance this year. The portal class Kim brings in next year will decide what type of season we have. Pretty simple but fact.

Agree. We needed guards but none were game changers. Sheppard is a really good defender but doesn’t play much. Gilbert can be a game changer , but she is more likely to go 0 for 11 with five turnovers.

I didn’t really understand the Wolfenbarger signing. Other than her being a five star out of high school.

I will be optimistic when the next season rolls around, but for now I’m mourning the end of Aneesah in purple and gold. Just an absolute beast, and so fun to root for

not one Amazonian in that bunch. That’s what championship caliber teams always have.

1. I do think that’s the only way CKM would push hard for Latson from Florida State—if FJ leaves for the WNBA. If FJ is back, Kim may feel her back court is crowded enough.

2. Serah Williams from Wisconsin, a 6-4 twice all Big Ten selection from Wisconsin, is a must-get. She’d be the successor to Reese and Morrow. Another functional big in the portal along with Williams would be perfect.

3. ADR needs to be processed. She needs to play at McNeese or somewhere just being 6-6 makes you a decent player.

4. After today, I’m all for Kim telling Gilbert to hit the portal. Yes, she won a couple games with clutch shots but then she thought she was Kobe Bryant. I put this loss on her and the blown call on the possession that clearly went off the UCLA player’s foot. She had the reputation of a locker room cancer but obviously the Mulkey culture was too strong for her to affect things here. But her being an unaware ball hog is enough. For Kailyn Gilbert, I’m singing the old Steam song “Na na na na hey hey hey goodbye.”

5. Incoming freshman 6-3 Grace Knox will help at forward but we need Serah Williams badly. Enter Williams, Knox, another functional forward along with Smith returning—Exit Morrow (unfortunately), Bartlett, and ADR, and we’ll be set up front.

6. As noted, I’d like to see Gilbert gone but in any case, the freshman five stars should push her and Sheppard further down the bench.

There are rumors going around ADR, Jersey and maybe one more player are not expected to return

LSU is expected to have 4-5 openings to use

Was it just me or did it look like there was a big size difference between our girls and UCLA’s?

Nah it was known going into the game that UCLA had an advantage over us with length, at a few positions

I think the two portal players that need to go absolutely are ADR and Gilbert. I don’t believe Richard will enter but it wouldn’t surprise me. I think she should have played over Wilson. She brought everything Wilson brought with much better shooting. I think Sheppard will be back and, with the lack of height currently on the team, I don’t see Jersey going anywhere.

Oh, you are correct there. But google Serah Williams. 6-4, twice first-team All-Big-Ten and like Morrow, a double-double machine. UConn is all over her already in the portal so Kim will have to do some hard recruiting. But get her and we are well on the way to another NC in 2026.
