That game last night left me with a sinking feeling as the next Larry Bird (facetious take) cooked Arizona
I'd feel differently if this organization was actually ran with competence, but maybe its a long shot they try to throw Zion a bone.

They already "let" us pick the best player in college basketball twice in the last decade.

Exactly, that's my point. We haven't done shite with them

Cooper Flagg is going to have a Caitlyn Clark like reaction from normies in America due to you know what. The NBA currently is having viewership issues to a degree to the point the Commissioner agreed the All Star game was a massive flop.
The only way I see the NBA getting Flagg to New Orleans is to help Zion. I really REALLY think the NBA should go 10 toes down on a Ant vs. Zion rivarly (mostly because its been natural and fun to watch) but it could bring back that 90's feel when everyone wasn't incredibly buddy buddy but the respect was there.

They might push him to NOLA. They can then move them to whatever big market team they want to after a second contract. CP3 to LA, Davis to LA, Zion to NYK, Flagg to Miami. If he goes to a team like Washington, Toronto or Utah, he might get stuck there long term.

He's going to the 76ers or Nets. The league isn't stupid.

Elaborate, please.

You can't fabricate a rivalry when 1 dude hasn't played a playoff game in 6 seasons in the NBA.

We don't deserve the #1 pick.

The NBA had their reasons in the past.
Not with Flagg, its Brooklyn or Philly *tinfoil*
Utah would be the funniest outcome though
Us or the Wiz are the worst outcomes for the league.

I don’t think New Orleans is as bad as Charlotte and Washington when it comes to dead franchises. Charlottes ownership and culture is terrible and they haven’t done shite since coming back to the nba, and the wizards have less fans than we do.

Plus it’s written in the stars. Believe!

Very fair points. I just have a very hard time believing the NBA is going to allow their next superstar to go somewhere to be forgotten about.

This is the hope eternal in me. Those game they played together were pretty electric. I have zero retort for Zion's availability, but I do think maybe there was a path forward discovered this year with the 30 mpg.
The biggest thing for me was Zion came back from injury in better shape than before, which was never the case. It was a moment of he showed it instead of talked about it for me. There's is this non zero figure of hope for me that he's finally over the mountain per say.
The NBA needs a rivalry bad. I genuinely feel like if Zion has figured out the health number, this could be a great one, because outside of the old guard, im having a hard time figuring out who out of the young guys actually have a competitive rival.

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out what that meant
And regardless of anyone's position on that thought, doesn't make it any less true.

Yeah, I have to agree with Shel here. I have a conspiracy brain too Zion was one of the most hyped prospects ever and we came out of nowhere to win that lottery. For no reason at all, I’m going to guess the Hornets win the lottery.

Hopefully never again.
Ownership and team management doesn’t care about winning.
