Drove to Bridgestone Arena to see Deftones for the first time. The place was sold out. I couldn’t see an empty seat. Opening act I didn’t catch. Was at the bar catching up with old friends. The Mars Volta was next. Pretty mellow show. Built for the Coachella/Lollapalooza crowd.

Deftones rocked the set. Girls screaming everywhere. The surprise of the night was Hayley Williams coming out during Minerva. Alot of old and new hits.

I love the Deftones & have seen them twice in the last decade in a 10K seat venue but am amazed that all of sudden they are now even bigger & selling out an entire arena tour. What caused all this? Social media? The cheapest ticket here in Dallas a few weeks ago was $275 for the worst seat in the upper level on the secondary market. Insane.

Not gonna be able to see any of their concerts for this tour which is disappointing. Glad you enjoyed it.

I’ve prob seen them 8 or more times over 25 years and always at theatre sized places or outdoor amphitheaters. They’ve always been great live. Was wondering same thing. Why all of a sudden selling out arenas? No new album in 4-5 years. Yeah I skipped paying the $$ for the ATL arena show here

A female friend (no pics) told me it was weird seeing them in a sold out arena with so many young fans. She’s seen them six times. Couple times at the Municipal Auditorium and the Ryman. It gives me hope younger people listening to a band I’ve been listening to since high school. I go back to Around the Fur days.

They’re headlining Louder Than Life so I’ll get to see them twice.

TikTok made them huge - like they were third on the bill at Coachella and Lollapalooza last year. Shoegaze bands have also had a resurgence via TikTok and they've kind of tapped into that too, since they're a melodic metal band.

Man I was wondering the same thing. Apparently it’s due to tiktok according to some of the answers.

They played the Varsity in 2013! Crazy.

They're my 18 year old daughters favorite band. And it's not some recent tik tok fad either, they got popular on there a couple of years ago and sustained the momentum once the youngins (especially girls for some reason) dug into their entire catalog.

It helps that they've never put out a bad album (although I think Gore was weak by their standards). I've gotten her Deftones vinyls the past 2 Christmases and she wears them out.
