I have a Pitboss now; the smaller one (not sure of the name). It is older and just too small for what i would like. Looking to spend around $1000. Not picky on brands just want good size and something reliable. TIA

Check out the Green Mountain Grills "Ledge Prime" model.

I have had the smaller version for a few years and it is very good quality.

For that price, I would say Recteq is the best bang for the buck. Excellent grills that stand up to time and excellent customer service with 6yr warranties. I have the Backyard Beast and it never disappoints.

Can't go wrong with RecTeq

The Weber Searwoods are supposed to be nice.

Camp Chef Woodwind Pro was a pretty legit game changer. It's the best of the sub $2k models out there.

My aunt just bought the combo pellet and propane grill (whatever brand is at academy), has two separate sections. Really ease of use for someone who isn’t the best on the grill/smoker

I will say tho, we have an egg and her grill is definitely not the best smoke flavor, but you can still taste the smoke. it’s perfect for her bc it’s super simple to use and can smoke and grill at the same time, use one or the other etc.

Check out Grilla Grills. I have the Silverbac and love it. Really good support too and was recommended by some teams out at competitions I’ve been to.

I've had numerous Recteqs with a GMG Ledge Prime sandwiched between. The RT is LIGHTYEARS better. Currently running the Flagship 1100, but previously owned the original Mini (now called 340), then a Bullseye (still have). Then I got the GMG and quickly switched back to RT with the Flagship. Currently the control board is out (i think), and its barely over 1 year old. I dislike it so much I havent even bothered to look at it.

The GMG is literally an easy bake oven. It's terrible at grilling temps, and yet still barely smokes in the low 200s. From my historical cooking notes, everything I made on the GMG took 30min to 1hour longer with a 25-50° temp increase over my Recteqs.

I will definitely agree with you on the quality output. I have had mine for about 3 years with zero issues, but the smoke level leaves quite a bit to be desired.

Is there anything you dislike about your pit boss or are you just ready for an upgrade?
