9. New Orleans Saints?
Jahdae Barron, CB, Texas
Every position is on the table for rebuilding Saints, but taking Barron would help make a solid secondary even stronger. Barron was a Day 3 prospect entering the 2024 season but blossomed when he transitioned to outside corner. He notched five interceptions and nine passes defensed, and he won the Jim Thorpe Award as the nation's best defensive back. That got him into Round 1, and he cemented that status with a 4.39-second 40-yard dash at the combine.
Barron can play inside or outside cornerback, and some teams even like him at safety. I see him as a Trent McDuffie clone with high upside at outside corner even if he starts his career in the slot.
40. New Orleans Saints?
Quinn Ewers, QB, Texas
Derek Carr will be back in 2025, but there's a sense around the league that he's a placeholder while the Saints draft their QB of the future. Ewers has injury concerns, but he did lead the Longhorns to the College Football Playoff semifinals in back-to-back seasons. He's a touch-and-timing passer who would fit new coach Kellen Moore's offense. Ewers doesn't add value as a runner and must work at seeing the field faster, but his arm talent and mechanics are fits for a future NFL starter.
71. New Orleans Saints?
Jalen Royals, WR, Utah State
Wide receiver Chris Olave's long-term future is in question after multiple concussions, and the Saints are desperate for receiver help. Royals is a run-after-catch prospect with the lower-body strength to execute every route from the slot.
93. New Orleans Saints (via WSH)?
JT Tuimoloau, Edge, Ohio State
The Saints are still trying to replace Trey Hendrickson -- who left after the 2020 season. Tuimoloau went off in the College Football Playoff, with 6.5 sacks in the Buckeyes' four postseason wins.
112. New Orleans Saints: Wyatt Milum, G, West Virginia
131. New Orleans Saints (via WSH): Jordan James, RB, Oregon
184. New Orleans Saints: Elijah Roberts, Edge, SMU
248. New Orleans Saints (via PHI/WSH): Andrew Armstrong, WR, Arkansas
254. New Orleans Saints*: Jacob Bayer, C, Arkansas State

Wow I hate this mock so much. I’m so fricking anti taking a corner at 9. I don’t like any of the guys graded to be in that area and I’m also just sick of using top picks on corners
Ewers at 40 is also pretty sickening. We would basically leave the draft with zero impact players if we did this imo.

I've seen worse. I wouldn't be hitting the ceiling if we took Ewers in the second, but if KM thinks he's his guy then I'm along for the ride.

100% agree...frick a corner at # 9, Get the TE from Penn or WR from Arizona.

I may have a meltdown if we took Ewers there. Holy frick that is a reach.
Of all the corners outside of hunter in this draft Barron is imo by far ahead of Johnson and the others. I wouldn’t hate this pick.
Ewers? That should get someone fired.
JT i can’t see him lasting till the 3rd round.
Royals, i love this player. He is going to be a steal.
Milum, 0% chance he is there in the 4th round. Literally zero. Some see him as a first rounder. I believe he goes in the 2nd somewhere.
I’d take this draft but you walk away gutted that you spend a 2nd round pick on Ewers.

I’d much rather take a pass rusher/lineman picking so high. But I’ve always been a believer that the pass rush helps the secondary more than vice versa especially when you need both.

The likelihood of non first rounders working out at qb is so low league wide. To me 2nd, 3rd round picks at qb are like lighting them on fire. Especially in the rounds where those players should be becoming starters within a year or so. Guard, inside linebacker, safety, running back, receiver should all be bolstered in 2/3 with bpa over some flyers at qb.

This is a horrible mock draft. The Saints front office needs to be slapped if they actually do this

I hate that Carolina is looking for some of the same defensive guys we might be looking at. I can only hope they go OT before us. I don’t hate hate it with Walker being gone before our pick.

Ehhhhh. Don’t love it with guys like Walter Nolan, Donovan Jackson, Collins, Pearce Jr., Ratledge, Tre Harris, Mbow and Scourton still on the board. We have bigger needs.

We have so many needs that I don’t mind any of these. I’d have to think Milum is gone before 112. If not, that’s kind of a steal.
IMO, this is a foundational draft year. We need to hit on almost every pick and those guys need to be contributors. First round needs to be a stud and the other rounds need to be guys who stick for 5-8 years. High floor guys.

I don’t like that at all. With so many quality backs in this draft I don’t want the slow AND small guy. Really would like us to find some real speed out of the backfield even if it’s taken a round early.

I like Baron but I would rather see us get a pass. Rusher at #9.
I agree adding him to the secondary would make that group even stronger but I would prefer a rusher or even a down lineman.
Jarius Byrd was one of the worst free agent signings the Saints ever made because when he was here our pass rush wasn't very good. Besides Cam Jordan.
He had thrived in the defense in Buffalo that had a good front.

I don’t know much about James. But I agree, I’d like to find some speed at the RB position as Kamara gets older. Someone like Dylan Sampson or Brashard Smith to team up with Kamara and Miller would be really nice.

Fantastic looking mock that fills a number of holes on the roster.
Those of you complaining are pretty clueless when it comes to football.

Yep. If you believe in a Qb enough to think he can be a true starter, then he should probably go in the first, unless he's a TRUE PROJECT. Any later than that and you're basically looking for a backup. We've already got one true project (Rattler) and one likely career backup (Haener) on the roster. We do not need any more late QBs.

To be fair, taking corners in the first is probably the only thing that has kept our defense afloat. Using those picks on LBs and DL clearly haven't done much, other than Bresee.

Shitty Mock Draft ………
Saints have to do better at drafting if they wish to have a GOOD & YOUNG team in 3 years !!
If they blow another draft with all the picks they possess, in conjunction with their past shitty draft history… they need a new scouting department… unless Loomis is ignoring the draft ratings of the scouts.

Would be major reaches for both in the first and second. Ewers shouldn’t go in the first two rounds.
Barron is a good pick for later in the first. Not top ten.
I’ll be really pissed if we take a qb this year at any point in the draft. We have Carr this year and another year of seeing if Rattler progresses. Next year is full of qbs.
