LINK

Looks like another taco concept lined up to take its place. Wonder if it was the operator or the location that did them in.

Was reading about this the other day

quote:

According to one of the managers, there is some kind of dispute between two owners. They will reopen as another restaurant very soon by the name Tacos del Cartel. They have some in New Orleans and are doing pretty well.

Its going to be Tacos Del Cartel, a NOLA based restaurant that is really good. They were originally on David Dr. in Metairie and now I think its in the CBD. I’m more excited about this place than Habaneros honestly

The one in Luling just closed too. I heard they were having problems getting those plants baws in and out in an hour on their lunch break.

That one in Luling wasn't open for long, I remember them opening just about one year ago

Guess the one by Lakeside might not have much longer left?

I went once, an it was ok. I’ve been to the one in Covington/Madisonville many times, that location, the food was better.

which has also closed and then reopened in new locations.

The problem is that it's overpriced for mexican food. Is it good? Sure, but not so good that they can charge 20% more than competitors.

I do find it odd that they keep opening all these spots, failing, closing and opening more. They must have a lot of money backing them

Habaneros spent a lot of money changing the existing building in Luling before it opened. They even paved a new parking lot.
It was open less than a year and now they are spending lots of money to re-decorate and rebrand.

They either have lots of money to throw at these restaurants or tons of debt.

The one I’m talking about is off I-12. It’s always been very good. Drinks and Food, plus easy to get in and out of.
