I’m planting trees in a river bottom today that’s been flooded for a few months. The walking is great, but muddy, obviously. It’s 80 degrees and these lacrosse rubber boots are just about filled from sweat. It’s a perfect place to wear some ankle high mud boots.

Any of you have some you’d recommend?

The chene scout boots are a bit pricy, but they are the most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn. I don’t get hot in them and with a wool sock haven’t gotten cold either.

I wear these a lot.

If you want to save $10 you can get these hideous looking things.

I’ve tried most of them except Chene. Grundens are the most durable, but they’re a little heavier than Xtratuf.

I have a pair of xtratuf. They're comfortable but not very durable. Developed a crack in them after about 9 mth.

I've had Chene scout boots for the last couple years and they have held up great.

deck boots wont work, too slick on the bottom. I was sliding all over in the Lacrosse I had on.

I looked at the Kuiu, but they are 7mm neoprene, and described as best for cold conditions.

The Muck boots don't have a hell of a lot of tread either.

I may have an old pair that rotted a hole where they bend over. If so that's exactly what I'll do

I have had the dive bomb trudge boots for 4 months and have no complaints.

Went through two pairs of xtratufs that cracked where they flex on the top.

Tried Grundens but they were too thick/hot.

I tried those and wanted to love them. They were lighter than Grundens, though a little tight on me. My pair fell apart after about 6 months. Neoprene separated from rubber on one and the sole separated on the other. This is with near daily use.

Had these for 5-6 years now and wear them 3-4 times a week at home and in the woods. no signs of breakdown yet.
