Implying that the players at LSU already play and spend a lot of time with a ton of guys from New Orleans that they need to go out and be in other cities/teams before coming to the Saints, for lack of better words.

Seems like a really lazy take. Last I checked, the Saints had a lot of help from Devery Henderson. Excusing Loomis for being a shitty GM with this kinda take is weird.

Let’s miss out on top talent bc they already have chemistry with our team.

Just bc Roman Harper says something doesn’t make it true.

Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Kenny Pickett who practiced in the same building as them when he was at Pitt

Roman Harper isn’t exactly the sharpest tool in the shed, you have to excuse him.

Which makes absolutely no sense. He has a screw loose.

I agree its a lazy take... but.... he's implying that you don't give a 21 year old millions of dollars and cut him loose in or near the cities they grew up in around their old circle of friends.

I think he's trying to say leave town, grow up, mature, get away from any leaches, then come home.

They used other teams/schools as examples as well. Atlanta and Georgia. Carolina and Clemson.

I has to be a player by player decision

if i had character/maturity concerns

worst case scenario is Aaron Hernandez going right back to his childhood hang friends and gangbanging

I didn't hear what he said but are you sure he implied that or did you just infer it?

When I read
quote:

Roman Harper says Saints are "too close" to LSU to draft them

The thing I immediately inferred is that the Saints personnel evaluators may not be objective regarding LSU players, perhaps n=being emotionally invested in these players. Until I read your post I never even thought he might mean LSU players need to be exposed to other places.

Roman Harper deplanes an airplane before the people seated in rows ahead of him.

Sadly, this is a fact.

Doesn’t NIL negate this if Louisiana kids are going to school in Baton Rouge?

Dumb take

I've heard stories about Sean Payton not wanting LSU players because the media focused on them too much for his liking. I talked to Mike Detillier at one of the last Bayou Bashes, and I forgot the LSU player, but he was either on the practice squad or just playing special teams and a reporter asked Payton about the player and he got pissed off. That started a long drought of LSU players on the Saints.

A former LSU players has won how many consecutive super bowls including the Saints only SB, and you want to exclude that set of players because of distance? Don't make sense.

But with NIL 18 year olds can do just that.
