My application is complete and I've submitted all of the documentation they requested, but I have not received any updates on payment.

Is there anything I can do to push it along? I have called about status and they keep telling me that it's going to happen soon basically. I am guessing I am screwed at this point but thought I would check before giving up completely.

I just assumed people from the Louisiana area would have a lot of expertise in dealing with FEMA is all. Sorry if this is the wrong board.

What do you consider "FEMA funds?"

NFIP Flood insurance payouts?
SBA loan?
A FEMA individual assistance grant authorized by Congress?
Critical Needs Assistance payout of $700?

Hi thanks for responding.

It would be "A FEMA individual assistance grant authorized by Congress"

did you have insurance coverage? If you did then they will ghost you forever. The logic is you are double dipping.

Yeah, we do have lots of experience dealing with them. Expert opinion - Absolute joke and total waste of time getting any hopes up with those clowns, sorry to say. Been through 3 major disasters and still waiting for FEMA or Red Cross to lift a finger.

Still waiting on insurance from Louisiana Guaranty Insurance Association for Hurricane Ida. Paying over $1,000 a month for builders risk.

No advice, but seriously, good luck.

FEMA set for elimination, Noem says

quote:

Noem’s brief mention of FEMA came during her discussion of various DHS operations, of which the disaster management agency is a component. After detailing ongoing immigration enforcement efforts at the southern border and developing Coast Guard operations, the secretary concluded her remarks by noting that “we're going to eliminate FEMA.”

Contact your representative’s office in Congress and ask them to advocate for you. I did tried this when I was waiting for a hurricane Ida reimbursement. Ultimately it didn’t help but maybe it will in your case.

It took almost two years and probably 25 phones calls to finally get reimbursed.

Create a NGO and you should get funding faster and in more quantity.
