Who do you got?

I’ll start.

Mateen Cleaves Michigan State.

They hyped this guy up his entire senior year. He was a first team all American but his stats showed he was just an average player. He averaged 12 points a game his senior year a little better than his 11 point average as a junior. Terrible shooter with just average assists and steals. Played 6 years in the NBA and averaged 3 points a game.

I remember Harold Minor at USC getting constantly touted as the next Jordan.

Sometimes stats dont mean everything. He was the glue that held that team together. His role was vital.

I agree. Jonas Aidoo made him look as slow as Lurch.

The only correct answer is Felipe Lopez. Remember when that dude was hyped up as Jesus incarnate at St. John’s?

I would’ve taken him in his current age over Dickinson last night

Ed O'Bannon- not saying he was an overrated college player but his game did not transition well to the next level

college- 1st All American, Pac-10 POY, Wooden Award, Final 4 MOP, Top 10 pick

NBA- 3 teams, 2 years 5 points per game

Ed was a great college player. But didn’t do much after that. His teammate Toby Bailey was another great player in college and fizzled out after that.

The Natty is what made her overrated.

Her behavior in that game caused everyone in America to pick a side between her and Caitlin Clark, which propped her up into discussions for best WBB player, which she had no business being in.

She jumped from being seen as a Top 10 player to a Top 2 player because she acted trashy and trashy people supported her

You do understand this is all relative, right? The 2000 Spartans only averaged 74 PPG. And no one would argue he was a scoring PG to begin with.

Mateen was a great leader and college PG. Not having success as a pro doesn't mean he was overrated as a college player.
