Friday humor: Joy Reid | Canada would defeat U.S. in war.

Pretty deep thinking for early morning Friday. I have a headache just listening to her logic.

And the treaty of Ghent was essentially a “okay… uhh… you go home and we go home… let’s just forget this happened” treaty…. Not a “Canadian (read british) victory”

There are a few things that make a war with Canada more complicated than at first glance. I am willing to humor takes that argue that the US could tactically win the war but strategically lose the occupation. Mainly because that feels about the same as every campaign we've participated in since the end of WWII and its occupation period. Those wars didn't have the added complication of the asymmetric warfare bleeding into our own borders with regularity too.

She is still Butt hurt. We have some real loons out there. The first part even would never happen anyway. So it is a waste of time.

By Reid's logic, we kicked Canada's arsenal in New Orleans in 1814.

This is a terrible take. Culturally, the Canadians are close enough to us that an occupation would be very easy. It would look nothing like Middle East occupations. It would look more like Germany occupying Austria.
