I’ve decided to start following the Montreal Canadiens because I’m learning French and like the idea of rooting for a historic franchise trying to get back on top.

What’s the state of NHL fandom here and who do y’all root for?

Sabres fan here since 94...

I enjoy the Wild as well. Great young franchise. Fun to watch.

Panthers also as of late. Pulling for them in hopes they move to Houston and can go to the games.

Have you ever been to Montreal? It's an amazing city - its like if New Orleans had elegant French speakers instead of black folk.

I’ve been bit hard by the NHL bug since the Kraken arrived. Been to 7 NHL games so far in 2025. 6 in Seattle, Rangers last night. Doing Islanders tomorrow, Devils Saturday, and three more in Seattle to finish off season. The excessive launching of three pointers has ruined basketball for me. Thank goodness for hockey.

Incredibly frustrating lately but theoretically should have a very bright future

If you haven't seen hockey live highly recommend you catch a game even if it is AHL or developmental league. Live hockey will totally hook you.

Flyers fan since the 80’s. Kind of adopted the Stars when they moved from Minnesota because of ability to go to games. Now I find myself rooting for the Leafs to finally get over the hump.

Protas is the best young player no one has really heard of yet. He’s going to be making a name for himself in the playoffs.

Was a Thrashers fan until the franchise got screwed by the Atlanta Shithead Group.
