Through all of the machinations and salary reworks.

So now we have to ask ourselves...why? What are they doing? They can roll over a large portion to next year but not all of it. So what's the deal?

Ya'll realize we can take unused capspace into next year, right?

They now are ranked 14th/15th in cap space for 2025. I'm mildly impressed but so confused about what they're doing.

Many here last year somewhat predicted the soft reset that appears to be taking place.

If my understanding is correct carr can come off post June 1 next year and save a massive chunk of money. So the war chest isn’t near as bleak as has been reported on this board.

This is very strange indeed. There are no high dollar FA's left on the market. (I know, I know, Loomis gonna give the one legged kicker from Idaho Fishing & Culinary Institute a 1 yr/$30M deal)

They don't need nearly that much for Rookie deal.

Maybe this Carr post-June trade stuff has some legs.

Draft qb at 9, and roll the rest over to next season to be able to cut Carr but still have some money

Kat Terrell seems to be disputing this and says it doesn't include Justin Reid, so that makes more sense.

You can roll over the entirety of remaining cap space into the next year, but given our pursuit of Kupp, I don't think we are done signing FAs. I think just everyone is in a holding pattern and stuck on their numbers on both sides around the league.

Also, not all the moves have processed (unless they very recently did in the last hour or so), and while it will be close to 30 mil under (31.9 mil currently), it will likely be a bit less, but still in the mid to high 20 mil range.

I have a strange feeling that Carr never takes another snap for the Saints

Kat has it right around my estimate, so I believe she is correct.

Edit:
No she is incorrect as well. Currently we are 31.9 mil under without factoring those guys in, nor Mathieu's paycut. Read what she said wrong and we are not 26 mil currently without those moves.

We will be around that with those moves. They can just check otc and get the numbers and not look stupid.

Having a competent QB on his rookie deal can do wonders for expediting the rebuild process.

There are actually a ton of 2nd tier FAs left on the market, guys that will get 10-15 mil. Some of them are probably expecting more, which is why the lack of movement currently.
