I'm going on a silent retreat this weekend and forgot to research a book to read during our off time.
Anyone have a good Christian (Catholic would be preferred) book that they can recommend?
Since its so last minute, it would have to be available on Kindle. I appreciate any help.

I have not read those, but they look very interesting. Thanks so much for the suggestions.
The Interior Castle is only $0.99 for Kindle

I just started listening to Living in Wonder by Rod Dreher. He's not usually my cup of tea, but the topic always is, so...
Seems like a good topic for a retreat.
Dreher was RC but converted to EO in 2006.

The Benedict Option was great, I"m interested in this one, but my reading list is super long.

I'd also read Confession or City of God.
And a summation of the Summa is usually really good retreat reading. Kreeft's being the most basic, but there are other good versions.

Bruh. Not at a silent retreat

At least suggest Mere Christianity or The Problem of Pain. Much better retreat meditation.

I’m not modern Catholic for research reasons and such, but I’d recommend this. Visited/prayed in her house and appreciated her perspective.

I can't recommend "The Fulfillment of All Desire" enough. It's life changing

I won’t troll you by recommending John Owen or even JI Packer (Knowing God is great)
I don’t yet know enough about her theology, but I really like Liz Oldfield’s perspectives and tone.
Just started her book Fully Alive.

If anyone likes fiction with overt Catholic themes I highly recommend Jon Hassler. All his books are phenomenal. North of Hope is my favorite
Jon Hassler put Catholics’ complicated fear around Vatican II into his novels

I think all of Brandt Pitre’s books are on Kindle.
He checks all your boxes.

Side question: where was the retreat? Thanks.
