Homering like Tommy Tanks

You can’t keep Brown Curiel or Pearson on the bench every week. He’s your righty in place of Brown maybe… sometimes. Or, we just keep playing matchups with everyone ready to play when the time comes. Tough to get 11 guys out imo.

Frey will be everyday as a Sr next season and do well this year plug and playing....

Tough decisions for Jay with this quality depth. Nice problem to have though.

Curiel has carved out a role in stone.
Stanfield has carved out a role.
Brown has carved out a role.
Pearson has carved out a role.
Frey has carved out a role.
Only 4 of those 5 can have spots on the lineup card. And Curiel is not coming out of it as long as he is wearing an LSU uniform, so they are competing for 3.

I need to see it against quality SEC pitching first, but it has looked like he’s improved a lot at the plate

It was UNO but he’s working towards more opportunities I agree!

Brown has more upside and is more toolsey.
Brown stays in right, Pearson and Frey rotate at DH (R/L).

Do you know the numbers versus lefties between the two? I genuinely don't know, but just basing off of recent memory, it seems Pearson would be the better option.

The ones that prove they can hit SEC pitching will be the ones that play when it matters

Frey will DH against lefties. Pearson will DH against righties

Weren’t you the same poster who said the exact same thing about Tanner at 3B?

teach him to play the hot corner

Interestingly enough they mentioned Josh Pearson tonight was 4 for 9 against lefties this year, right before he hit that infield single to go to 5 for 10

What an absolutely wonderful problem to have, though!

Death, taxes and the rant trying to bench Josh Pearson.

Give me Pearson over Brown. More experience he just makes things happen just give me Pearson over him

Even though Stanfield has done nothing wrong, I think Curiel in CF, Brown in RF, Pearson in LF, and Frey at DH is the best combination right now. Of course current form will change throughout the season and there will be game by game decisions of righty/lefty and offense/defense.
Same situation with Reaves and Braswell. We're running at 11 starters right now. Without even counting Larson who I'm sure will come around at some point.
