Will preface by saying that I have seen Dead and Co at the Sphere too and am somewhat comparing it to the eagles show (probably unfairly) but wow….

The eagles at the sphere was the worse concert I’ve seen in probably 25 years and possibly ever.

The squad is significantly older and can no longer play anything but slow acoustic songs. Henley sounds like a robot now and Joe Walsh unfortunately sounds like he can’t speak in coherent English. It was honestly sad watching Joe try and sing. He doesn’t sound like he’s fully there mentally. Yes, he’s 77 and yes he was loaded for a long time but man. Lots of missed notes, chords, and timing by everyone.

Compile with the lackluster visual show, namely just a sultry woman dancing the entire time, and the average age in the crowd of 75 and it was a dud from start to finish.

Since they have played the same set their entire residency, I knew what was coming and eventually got up and left.

Felt quite ironic to watch a once great rock band play well past their prime at the country’s most state of the art venue.

Unless the eagles hold a nostalgic place for you, would avoid at all costs. Monitored tickets all week and cheapest seat was $300-330 with fees.

I saw Dead and Co at the Sphere and thought just the opposite. It was a great experience all the way around. The songs, the sound, the musicianship, the art and last but not least the crowd ..amazing.

I was wondering if a band that had to play "rock radio hits" would convert to the sphere. I think I have my answer. Thanks

It was more “Don Henley and Friends” with backing tracks than Thr Eagles

I saw them on the 2020 tour and thought they were great. However, i will take your word for the recent tour as five years is a lot of tour miles on old dudes. Sounds like they are already gone and trying to sing their victory song. Woo hoo hoo.

Yeah, Walsh sounds terrible, but also consider he's playing over a backing track also. That's bad.

They should just let Vince Gill be the lead singer now if they want to continue to play shows

none of that is at all surprising. the "eagles" in 2025 is straight up cynical money grab

Once Glen Frey passed away they should have stopped calling themselves The Eagles or just stopped touring. Don Henley loves money & here we are. Lots of talk about them lip syncing online.

So I reply to my original post with 2 comments:

1) yes, calling them the eagles is loose. Whatever.

2) I was telling a few friends how poor the show was the weekend and how the sphere is a money grab for folks on the other side of the hill. Low and behold, for three texts today from different friends letting me know that “the eagles” had announced additional tour dates at the sphere

Would 100% go back to see Dead and Co though. Bob Weir can still play.

well there you go...since they arent altering the show in any way i'd assume almost every show is a completely different audience. they are cashing in on 50 years of equity

I wonder if a much better "Eagles" experience these days would be the Don Felder tour. Cheaper, smaller venue. . .

Saw Don Felder last year at Lauberge. Was fantastic. His backing band was great too. Would 100% see him again. Great guitar playing and better than expected vocals (probably some autotune)

They had a supposed farewell tour back in 05 i think. So much for that.

I've grown to dislike Henley over time. He just is a whiney bitch.

Quite possibly the biggest bitch in music and that's saying something.
