Going back to his home state school. I’m sure he chose LSU over UT. On the road after a shaky start this past weekend. I hope this will bring out the best in him and he locks in with a good performance this can propel him to have a great year in the SEC.

the only institution he chose LSU over was major league baseball.

I don't think so. I think we can get 2. I'm not expecting 2 but I think we can get 2.

Home state, yes. But comparing Austin to Midland is the same as comparing New Orleans to Monroe.

The kid is from midland. May as well be a different country than Austin. Clown post bro.

Tons of money there and semi-arid climate (which I like), BUT it is so dirty and filled with litter; and the landscaping is horrendous.

For fricks sake……

Shores as a 3rd starter is a luxury. If he gives LSU just 4 good innings per start they are way ahead of the curve. Most of the opponents will be piecing together innings using JWS in that game.

Dude he was the number one player in the state of Texas. There’s no way they weren’t on him. And most fans of Texas don’t have anything to do with Austin or act like the people of Austin.

4 good innings is a step up from what he did this past weekend. Like I said, it’s a big spot for him and he needs to give us those 4 good innings like you said, especially if it’s for a series win.

Being from some place in Texas doesnt have the same connection to UT as a program as being from some place in Louisiana does to LSU. Not even comparable.

You pretty much saw where Shores is right now vs Mizzou. He's a 3-4 inning guy most weekends vs SEC opponents. Expecting anything more is setting yourself up for disappointment.

He's been a disappointment so far, if we are being honest. Im glad he's healthy and never expected him to pitch late into games but he's struggled all year.

Considering Jay's comments of how he was the next Skeenes I have to agree. Jay shouldn't have put that on him.

I just think he's a work in progress. Some kids take time to develop. Until he can consistently put SEC hitters away with 2 strikes he will remain where he is now.

He’s coming off of Tommy John. Why are we acting like he’s got a ton of experience?

I believe he was an Oklahoma State commit before LSU

I don't know that we've really even seen the full arsenal for Eyanson and Shores yet. Whether that's by design, out of caution, lack of trust, or just vanilla pitch calling...I don't know. On the pitch calling side, I do feel like Yeskie falls in love with certain pitches. Cowan, for example, has been mostly changeup. When the schedule toughens, we will have to be more diverse and less predictable. Good hitting teams will figure it out quickly.
