Interesting that his two former coaches were the ones looking at him in FA.

Very average and often injured.

Does not move the needle.

Just a guy.

Yet only missed 7 of 74 games so far in his career

Also, he was an undrafted FA in 2020. Was never really supposed to be anything more than "Just a guy"; but still managed to make it to a 2nd contract

The 2 coaches that knew him best wanted him. We can complain about him all we want, but he is obviously well thought of by real NFL guys

I’d like to see the saints draft that Penn St TE. Really high on that kid

I'm not excited about Johnson returning but I am willing to see what the new coaching staff can do with him. If they can turn him into something more than he's been they it may be worth it.

Wished he would have walked to be honest. We need a playmaker that plays all 17 games.

They were probably interested in signing him for $3-4 mil a year. Im sure when they heard what he wanted to (aka what saints offered), they told him and his agent to have a good one.

I would have let him walk. No way we should be paying him more than what he was making before. Worst contract we gave out this offseason by far. Probably the last two years.

I also think that clip of Juwan talking to Sheaduer is hilarious. “Yo you better get that arm ready”

Juwan, Sheaduer has no idea who you are

He isn't an elite TE in the league. He is a solid TE can put into passing packages.

He was paid exactly what he was expected to get on the market. There were no other 28 year old TEs with his upside on the market. This isn't 2020. 10 million is what a guy like him is getting.

Doesn’t mean you have to pay it. This is why Loomis has us in the hole he does. This is the same thing as giving out the stupid Peat contract years ago.

Kupp just went for 15 million.

Kupp is 32 and washed. Loomis has only paid for under 28 with upside. If you are going to spend money, those are the type of guys you spend it on.

For the past 4 years, I've spent a pick on Johnson, albeit late, hoping that he would eventually break out and become the receiving TE threat that this team desperately needs. He just hasn't done it yet, seems to have all the tools and the athleticism, but just can't put it all together.

I'd swear this was a troll attempt if I didn't know better. You mean it though.
