Will be in Maine mid-late May.

First three days in Portland.

Next 6 days are open.

Any thoughts?

TIA

Kennebunkport. Walkable. We stayed at the Kennebunkport Inn. It is at the edge of town with a good bar. Will stay there again.

Just go up the coast from Portland.

Hit LL Bean and drop some cash. No problem getting everything shipped.

Brunswick- Bowdoin College. Good trails around for hiking. Good beer everywhere you look.

Bath- Take a river boat tour from up the river to the Atlantic, takes you by the shipyard and old downtown Bath.

Boothbay Harbor- Get a room right on the harbor. Can rent a boat and cruise around the harbor. Lots of good places to eat and drink.

Popham Beach State Park, Echo Lake/Sand Beach area all nice but the water will be freezing in May.

Acadia National Park, Camden, Tons of lighthouses to see. Portland Head light and Nubble Light are fantastic. Go down to Portsmouth NH and see the light on the military base and the old downtown part near it.

Sebago Lake is like 30 mins from Portland, great spot. Migis lodge is as good as it gets for accommodation in southern Maine

There’s a lobster restaurant just this side of the bridge to Acadia. You can skip that one. Undersized/ cramped and they pressure you to make way for the next customers.

Did this trip Sept 2023. Stayed on a houseboat in Damariscotta for 3 nights. Decent restaurants, all walkable. Short trip to Boothbay Harbor for lobsters and clams, Pemaqiud Point Lighthouse, and Deb's Bristol Diner for breakfast. Two nights in Bar Harbor, Acadia NP, One night in Bath, hit LLbean on the way. Did the boat tour in Bath. Lobster Rolls are overrated.
Plenty of other options along the coast

Visit Eventide restaurant in Portland. It’s pretty hip. Try all the raw oysters offered. You won’t be disappointed. They serve them with mignonette slushee dip. Delish.

Bar Harbor.
West Street Hotel with a view of the harbor. Heat roof top pool and bar.
Stewman’s Lobster Pound is across the street and a great place for Lobster, social and the best Blueberry pie on the planet.

Camden is a great little town.

If you can bike the National forest it a great experience. Amazing views and can go 20 miles without breaking a sweat.

Sorry that you have to be in Portland for 3 days. You will see lots of nose rings, grunge and blue hair

Yep. York County is very nice.

I'll probably end up in NC but I absolutely could live in Maine, especially the coastal areas mentioned in this thread. The winters in the coastal areas is just not as severe as it is further inland.

I really liked the town of Freeport. Cadillac Mountain is a nice drive. I was not impressed with Bar Harbor.
