Woodward owes his job to Wade.

Woodward was brought in because Alleva had completely screwed up the Wade situation. Culminating with him sitting in the PMAC getting booed like a goober while the men clinched the regular season title. What a night.
It was such a disaster that powerful folks pulled a mutiny and ousted Alleva and brought Woodward in.
In many ways, Woodward's fatass owes his job to Will Wade.
It's time for another mutiny. Undo the injustice that was done to Wade. I haven't brought myself to give a damn about men's basketball for a while now.
When Wade was here we had such incredible hype around the team. I knew every player, and back story.
I remember Wades first season him talking shite to ULL about NIT home court advantage.
I remember him grabbing the mic after beating Tennessee at home and giving his boot up speech. He was OUR GUY.
What we have now is an abomination. Wade is why fat Woody was hired. He can rehire Wade or meet the same fate as Alleva.

While maybe not directly, you can certainly argue Woodward may not be the AD at LSU if not for the fans' affinity for Wade.
By early 2019 fans and, more importantly, influential donors had almost had enough of Alleva. Primarily due to the debacle at the end of the Miles era. Les was coaching his last game at LSU vs. A&M in 2015....no, it wasn't his last game....we love Les...(4 games into the 2016 season)... Les is fired. The Orgeron hire was not all that well received. Particularly after Herman being reported as the next LSU HC on Thanksgiving night....only to see Alleva triumphantly announce O the very next day.
O wasn't exactly setting the world on fire in 2017 and 2018. In March of 2019 Wade and LSU were having their best regular season in decades. Alleva's decision to suspend Wade for the season finale and coronation of LSU's SEC regular season championship was the final straw for fans and donors alike. Within a little over a month Alleva was "reassigned" and Woodward was hired as AD.
In an alternate universe, Alleva doesn't suspend Wade. That means Alleva isn't fired in the Spring of 2019. In the fall of 2019 LSU has an historic championship football season. Alleva's initially jeered hire of Orgeron suddenly looks great. Alleva remains the AD at LSU.

No, Woodward was hired because the donors were pissed Alleva suspended Wade before the season finale. Richard Lipsey was the most vocal of the donors in support of Wade. If Alleva doesn't suspend Wade, he doesn't get fired. Particularly when the football team has the greatest season in school history that upcoming fall.

Joe Aleeva was such a shite. Felt like he was constantly overreacting or too late on things. Just never felt like he was in control or we could have faith for him to deliver the best possible outcome for LSU.
The Florida hurricane situation also comes to mind when we ended up losing a home game over Floridas frick up. And then we let them dictate that the game be played at noon. That was my last LSU game as a student and it is burned into my memory.

For Mulkey, I would gladly trade for Wade. Would much rather have a competitive men's basketball program than a dominating women's team. I am generally disinterested in women's basketball.
Johnson is a tougher call.
