You’re wrong. He had the team rolling in 2019 before that bullshite suspension. I’m not sure we beat MSU with wade coaching but it’s definitely not near the blowout that it was. Alleva was at that game, frick that guy.

It seems natural of a fanbase to miss the previous coach who went to the tourney 4 out of 5 years while being bottom tier for 3 straight years with his successor.
Some of the obsession may be a bit overblown when people say we would have won a natty by now. Who knows truthfully but we would still be playing meaningful games right now.

Tell you don't know what you're talking about without telling me you don't know what you're talking about.
The way he re-made his defensive approach in 2021 and 2022 and took us from one of the worst defensive teams in the league to one of the best shows that he knows what he is doing from an X's and O's perspective.
This on top of the fact that he consistently had top 30 offenes.
He was a great recruiter, but at no time did he have the most talented team in the SEC - yet over a 5 year period he led the conference in wins. That means he is maximizing his talent through development and scheme.
This "he's not a good X's and O's coach" is ridiculous narrative that was pushed by people who wanted him gone or people who genuinely don't udnerstand baskteball.

For OP, WW is 42 years old and has now made 8 NCAATs with 3 different schools and has never had a losing record with 4 different programs. He has a lot of room to grow and isn't afraid to admit it either. Could be our coach for 20+ years.
CoachMc has a losing record this season at LSU and a losing season at Murray State (was the first for them in 30 years).

He won more consistently than anyone since Dale Brown. I'm happy when LSU wins. Therefore I liked WW. He's now 2 hours West giving another school their best two years in their program history after being a doormat their entire history, and we're in the worst period of hoops I can remember.
I think the reason is pretty clear to anyone without blinders on why a lot of fans miss WW

Cause he's won everywhere he's been. And he'll win everwhere he goes. He went to the Sweet 16 at an earlier age than either Pearl or the A-hole at Alabama.

On top of the winning and recruiting, he has a infectious personality that gets people excited. He was great at working the schedule to get the highest NET rating possible. He just gets it at a level that no other MBB coach has since Dale Brown and WW was a BETTER X's and O's coach than Dale Brown.
