212 House Democrats Vote To Shut Down Government
Two hundred twelve House Democrats voted against a GOP-backed spending bill Tuesday afternoon to fund the government through the end of September.
The stopgap government funding bill passed the House of Representatives 217 to 213. House Democrats’ decision to oppose a six-month extension of government funding, known as a continuing resolution (CR) comes after many Democratic lawmakers previously warned about the dangers of shutting down the government during previous government funding fights.

Shut it down. Just had 4 years of a Democrat President and not once did he push for a normal budget process. Make the Democrats own that.

The real question is, what six democrat senators will vote for this bill for it to pass ? I can’t think of any, hell I can’t even think of one . You might even have some republican senators vote against it .

When it's a democratic president, it is highly irresponsible to jeopardize the country's ability to pay it's debts.
But it's (d)ifferent when it's a republican president.

I’m guessing this means the senate will shut it down, no way 7 Dems move.
And that means the government will shutdown for an extended period this time.
The Dems are looking for an omnibus rather than a CR, and Trump is not gonna budge.
The Dems will have to blink first.

Im for cutting spending, not shutting the entire government down.
Im not going to leave our vets hanging. Thats something the dems and Massie were willing to do.

There's already been a deal made. Massie pointed out yesterday that Mike Johnson sent the House home a day early and Democrats have a retreat later this week. The fight between parties here is just for show. House Democrats would have crossed the aisle if necessary to get this passed.

They will, they're ultimately spineless, they want their money. It would pass the House regardless. They'll posture and say they did it to save America making Democrats look like saviors because they did the selfless thing. It'll be 7 senators that face the toughest re-elections bids too. It's all theater.
