Feel old? The youngest gen x’s are in their 40’s. You are old.

Most in 2025 wouldn't mind being stuck in 1995

The worst part of looking back is realizing you didn't appreciate it when you were there. It's typically only with the lens of nostalgia that you realize that life isn't meant to be lived for a future date, but for the moment.

Truer words never spoken.
When I was about 23 years old my tool buddy and I were working a Sunday, double time day at Browns Ferry Nuclear Plant (it was my 46th day in a row, at least 12 hours a day). It was early may and the sun was just coming up over the Tennessee River. My boat was less than 5 miles away, on the way from the plant to the river. I jokingly told my tool buddy "we ought to knock off and go fishing".
He responded "I will if you will".
Thats all it took. We put our shite up, found our foreman and told him we were knocking off to go fishing. He said "Ya'll can't....its Sunday, its double time" We told him we could indeed and were indeed knocking off to go fishing. He could not believe it....he was absolutely dumbfounded that anyone could just give up 12 hours of double time to go fishing. We did, and to this day I can not recall what it was that I would have done with that money....but I know damned well what I did with that day.....I went fishing and had a blast. Life is too short not to go fishing, even on a double time Sunday....

I don't need a video to make me feel old. I'm 50 and still work outside every day and do tough manual labor tasks. My elbow is killing me today.

Latchkey-kids.
We often make fun of millennials and zoomers, but they were our kids. If anything has brought me clarity about the world today is that divorce sucks and does multi-generational damage to families.

This is so true.
It amazes me how fast time flies. If we don’t take the time to enjoy it, it will be gone in the blink of an eye. That’s why we all need to live for today and appreciate every minute of it. Because if we pile up enough tomorrows, all we will have collected is a bunch of empty yesterdays.

That's awesome... Who did you learn this from?

I may be getting old, but I'm not that old. I still remember the concerts, road trips, and some of the parties. My only regret is being a little too morally strict when more options were on the table.

the world needs ditch diggers too, son.
Odd flex, though. No one really gives a shite any more than they give a shite about what I do.

I don't have a job. I'm retired, pal.
Definitely not flexing that I'm getting old and can't physically do what I once could.

Most of your posts are about how you blaze up daily.

Those people in their late 40's and 50's back in the day, they looked like hell.
