I'm scheduled for test tomorrow morning at 8:00 and have a question for anyone that's taken it.
I made a mistake and drank about 3 ounces of coffee forgetting I had the test in the morning. That would put it about 16 hours prior to testing. The instructions were for no caffeine for 24 hours prior.
When I realized I called the office but they were closed for the day.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Yeah, I know I'm going to get hammered on here...
Thanks

Caffeine will raise your heart rate and raise your blood pressure, but it has a half life of about 12 hours. 24 hours is safe for it to definitely be out of your system and not affect your test, but 3oz 16 hours later will almost certainly be fine

Half-life is 3-7 hours.

If you tell them you had caffeine, they won’t do the test. It has nothing to do with your HR or blood pressure really. It interacts with the injection they give you and decreases the validity of the test. Even small amounts found in chocolate will affect it.

You worrying and stressing this much about drinking a half a cup of coffee 16 hours prior to the test is raising your pulse and BP much more than the dash of caffeine you consumed.

it's 3 heckin ounces and they obviously build a buffer into the window. If he drinks 8 glasses of water it'll be gone by the time he tests.

Also, most Americans barely drink any water and the testmakers have to account for that too.

UPDATE:
I told them that I drank 3 ounces of coffee approximately 15 hours prior to the test. They told me they ask for 24 hours but 12 hours is the cutoff point. So they did let me go thru with testing......Thanks for all the input.
