R.I.P. to my friend Paul

He was an interesting old man. 87 years young. I had only known him about 10 years, but it feels like much longer.
As it is with any interesting old man, he had lots of stories. One of his stories was how at Miami Beach Senior High he was the center on the football team, and a gentleman named Stanley Bertman was the backup center. That tidbit got us to talking about LSU baseball and then LSU football and then sports in general and onto 100 other tangents.
I'll be having Tito's with a splash of ginger ale in his honor tonight.

Seems our best connections in life are also, all too often, our most short-lived.
RIP to Paul

I'm an independent insurance adjuster. It seemes like that whenever I handled a claim in Miami Beach wearing an LSU polo, some octogenarian would walk up to me and tell me how he grew up with Skip.

Since the board's been around for almost 25 years and we're all getting older, I think it's about time for admin to fire up an Obituary Board. I'd like to pay respect to all of our fallen and their friends.

RIP Mr. Paul

One of the best gifts you can give to old folks is taking the time to talk to and listen to them. I'm sure your friend appreciated and valued your time and conversations. I'm sorry for your loss, and may he rest in peace.

So true. Life is fleeting.
I'm kind of in shock bc Mr. Paul wasn't sick at all. He was spry and with it but had an accident and died unexpectedly

Cheers to you and Paul and God Bless! Sorry for your loss and glad to hear about him.
RIP Paul.

You don't happen to have a lingerie picture of him?

Definitely adds a layer of suck to it.

I have a 91 year old best friend. I was in high school with one of his children but didn't know it at the time. His recollection of world events and cause and effect of politics is eye opening. I look forward to coffee, and a beer, with him on a regular basis. I know I'm lucky. Sorry for your lost.

I used to run into WWII submarine vets all the time around base back in the day. We'd sit around buying them beers and listening to them talk for hours... sad knowing all those guys are gone now.
