Hopefully we can get more than 20 SEC wins a guarantee a National Seed. That’s the key to Omaha. I’m ready.

it take it.

19 would probably be enough for a national seed.

That’s my goal every year as that is a very successful season. Anything beyond that is a bonus. As tough as the SEC is that would be a great year and we would be ready to make a run

A 17-13 record in the SEC is more realistic. The conference is that good.

Well sweeping by far the worst team in the SEC in Missouri would be a good start towards that goal

You know damn well we will lose at least two series to teams we should sweep. That's the LSU way.

That happens to everyone in the SEC.

There are no automatic sweeps in this league

16 to 20 wins in this gauntlet will work. If on the lower end the sec tournament can help us earn our way to a national.

Sweeping Mizura would be very helpful.

Baseball is the one sport where literally anything can happen regardless of the talent on the "better" team. Look at how many #1 seeds over the years fail to make it to Omaha.

Missouri: 3-0
@Texas: 2-1
Mississippi State: 3-0
@OU: 2-1
@Auburn: 1-2
Alabama: 2-1
Tennessee: 2-1
@A&m: 1-2
Arkansas: 2-1
@South Carolina: 2-1

Final record: 20-10

Getting off to a 7-2/8-1 start would be MASSIVE. Mizzou isn't a must sweep, but it would go a long way. They're terrible. The main goal should be to have 12 conference wins going into the Tennesee weekend. As long as we have that, we should be able to scrape enough the rest of the way to get a national seed.

Have you checked the top 10 teams lately? Dominated by the SEC. If LSU were to finish 20-10 in the SEC, they will likely win it, and be the #1 seed in the tourney. This ain't the big 12 here or the big 10.

Sucks no Ole Miss series this year.

Casualty of adopting UT & OU I guess.

16-1 now.
20-10 in SEC is optimistic, 18-12 probably.
That gets us to around 34-13.
Go 8-1 or 7-2 in remaining mid-weeks games is realistic with our pitching depth.
Assuming no major injuries, 42-14ish going into the Hoover meat grounder...win 2 there gives us 44 wins & LSU should be a national seed.
The problem may be politics...how many SEC teams are the NCAA going to have in the top 8? The SEC will eat each other up while the top few teams in the ACC & Big 12 will pad their record. The grading curve for LSU may be going 6-3 or 5-4 vs. Tenn, A&M & Ark.
