Does LSU baseball have a tarp that covers the whole field?

Any word on the game time today? Looking at the forecast for today, it appears that the rain will be passed by around 5pm. I know most tarps cover mainly the infield but, if we get the rain we are suppose to get, the outfield will get soaked before game time. I’m guessing they could delay the start some but a tarp that covers the outfield would be nice.

Generally, the quality of the drainage system precludes needing to tarp the entire field.
I don't know how much rain in how short a time is expected though.

This isn't supposed to be a gully washer type of event.
Half inch in some spots with a few small areas with higher amounts.

Broken line of tstms. It's not going to be a soaker. What I call non-Mormon precipitation.

It’s not the rain that will be big impact
It’s the wind
Once it goes thru they may be able to get it in

Where would they put a tarp big enough to cover the entire field?

Might go over some heads but this was great!

They might have a 2nd tarp to cover the outfield (I have no clue) but I don’t it’s ever used if they due. I bet it’s more likely that they’d land a helicopter on the field to get the water off than cover the entire field

the grass sits on 14" of sand. the water goes straight through the grass and should not puddle. they tarp the infield due to the dirt and to keep it dry

Good one.

If you tarp the outfield where would the water go I’m pretty sure the outfield is flat HELLO.

No such thing exists. The area is way too large to make it practical. If you did have enough material to cover the outfield, it would have to be in sections to roll up and once rolled up there is no place to store it. You would need a crane to get the rolled tarp out of the stadium.

While we will get some rain, the main issue we will/are seeing is the wind.
We shouldn't get anywhere close to the amount of rain that would cause a problem with the drainage our field has

It just passed over my house and appears to have dropped 6 inches of rain in 10 minutes. I’m right off of I10

Hopefully the bulk of the rain passes north of Baton Rouge. The southern end of that squall line packs a punch but it isn't very wide.
