That would be a good thing for the gulf coast shrimp trawlers and quality of seafood served

Why wasn't this a thing before protecting our shrimp industry?

Just when I thought seafood at restaurants couldn’t get more expensive.

Thank goodness.
The seafood baws have been saying for several years now that importing the BS from China is putting them in really tough times.
Why in TF would any place in Louisiana not use local shrimp is complete BS.

Great! Support our people. I refuse to eat imported trash. Most chain restaurants sell that trash. If a local restaurant sells it, ask owner or manager why? Then, get up and walkout. Then blast them on reviews. Time we support each other.

It would make seafood prices go up outside the coastal areas.

You wearing clothes and shoes made in the US? You typing on a keyboard made in Kentucky or China?

Money plain and simple. Some restaurants don’t mind paying for shrimp that was harvested and peeled by child labor if it means saving money in the long run. It’s messed up and I’m glad to see the tariffs in place.

Up until recently they didn’t have to make people aware that they were serving foreign shrimp. Unfortunately we probably all ate that crap without realizing it.

Almost all restaurants are serving imported seafood now. Every chain and most smaller operations do.
Nicer places usually have gulf seafood, but that fades quickly as you get further north from the Gulf.

Yes, I know. I didn’t say I liked it. Sorry, no restaurant asks me for permission when they source their food.
