I do agree.

We have nothing in common.
We had everything in common under leftist rule.

America is not a leftist country. American values don’t and won’t align.
Europe has chosen a less free path for its people.
I don’t want my tax dollars supporting LESS freedom.

I respectfully disagree.

Look...I hate globalization as I feel like it leads to the curb of freedoms here in the United States due to our value system being different. However, it was our failure to participate in the League of Nations (the forerunner to the UN) in the aftermath of the First World War that ultimately led to the rise of Imperial Japan and Nazi Germany. We are there as a check against authoritarian imperialism and an assurer of the status quo. Without our power and influence, bad actors can rise and lead to the risk of global conflagrations that will kill tens of millions of people.

Both NATO and the UN take a lot of US resources yet give us back nothing but grief, disrespect, and headache.

Agree 100%.

I agree. It's more a benefit to them than to the US. Putin isn't taking over Europe.

We should have left when the Berlin Wall fell.

Probably so but we can still exert our influence

The UN has turned into a political extortion tool for enriching the coffers of smaller countries.

NATO exists solely for the protection of Europe from Russia. Yet, for some reason, those very same European countries have decided to not contribute to their own security and instead hide behind us. Use us and mock us. frick them.

Absolutely!! It became obvious to me during all this Ukraine frickery. NATO was developed to stop the USSR spreading communism. The USSR no longer exist and the threat of communism spreading isn't a threat anymore.

We need something to stop the spread of woke globalist!!!

That’s a cheap talking point we all learned in middle school but it’s simply not realistic or accurate.

Absent military intervention both of those things were going to happen due to forces such as the collapse of the Weimar Republic. The UN as it exists today wouldn’t have stopped it and to do so would’ve defied the popular will of the nations involved.

What would’ve stopped Hitler and the militarists in Japan would’ve been a strong US military clearly articulating from a position of strength that further expansion would mean war.

International politics is natural law with a bunch of worthless ambassadors tweeting.

It means nothing without the implied threat or use of force now and it wouldn’t have then either. Neither the League or UN would’ve had any substantive impact on WW2.

As a minimum, NATO.

UN can still be useful if we leverage our influence. Not against leaving it as well.

Big mistake to pull out. We're strengthened by Europe. You could just stay in NATO and reduce the money we give them. You can become more isolationist without giving up your influence on the world.

Last time I checked however, Ukraine is not in NATO. Don't let your opinions of this conflict make you go full retard.
