So What Did Y'all Think of Riders Park?

First time there and loved iit. Nice area. The perfect baseball weather didn't hurt. Of the TX stadiums I've seen us play in (Round Rock, Minute Maid, Blue Bell), it was easily my favorite.

Refresh my memory, when did LSU get to play in Round Rock?

Much better than Round Rock due to the hotels and amenities that are walking distance.. the park has a much more nostalgic feel than most minor league parks.. the weather may also be factoring into my bias

Live in the area and go to 2 to 3 Rough Rider games a year. Great park and area. Wish LSU played there more than Houston.

Liked it a lot. Great seats and great weather played a part, and loved being able to walk to the park. Easy access to food and facilities, nice atmosphere. I’d go back for sure.

Globe Life is the best. They have TWO college tournaments every year and their teams are usually better than any of the other Texas tournaments. IMO, we should play in one of their tournaments as often as possible.

I love Minute Maid for MLB, but nothing beats baseball outdoors in a smaller venue on a beautiful weather day.

Two years ago, Iowa, Sam Houston and I think KState.

DBU game was awful they were not prepped for the concessions. The air was turned off and mildly uncomfortable

First time there as well. Loved it. I’m a city guy and I thought the area was really nice. Enjoyed walking to the stadium.
Bathrooms never had a line to take a piss. Good beer selection which also didn’t have much of a line.
I give it a 10/10. Can’t wait for LSU to play there again.
ETA: I haven’t been to round rock but have been going to the Minute Maid games since they played TCU a while back. Those have always been fun but I think I liked Riders park a little more.

Glad I wasn’t the only one who thought it was really warm in there. Concession lines were awful until the 5th inning or so

Also there were a few times they were out of Shiner or Shiner Light but they had some beer in a white/blue/silver can that had maybe an 8 or something on it. Does anyone know what it was?

Globe life sucks for college baseball. Every college game there has the charm of a funeral. Empty and cavernous.
Thank god the big12 is currently occupying it during championship week. I’d hate for the SEC to move there.

Elite 8 lager, It’s Troy Aikman’s beer innit. I’ve never had it, was it good?

It’s a great environment for a college baseball tourney. Lots of hotels and food/drink within walking distance.

I have been wanting to see them play the weekend series at Globe Life Park for a long time because it is like 10 miles from home. The reason being the weather this time of year in N TX it can be 30 or 70 degrees. The game vs DBU was on a Wednesday and not well attended and the it seemed very empty. Also Globe Life was a little to warm inside that day. But the kids enjoyed play in a major league park. I live 30 minutes from the Frisco stadium and never go. I went to all the games in Frisco. The Saturday game drew 11,000+ and it was the most fun game of the 3. During the game Saturday a guy behind us said he had Rough Rides season tickets for years and had NEVER seen th park that full or loud. The Sunday game was maybe close to half full and not as fun. I liked the park and would go back if LSU play there. Easy access and parking without the traffic of round rock austin area. Rough Rider park is like 30 minutes away and a quick drive up the 121 SRT tollway for me.
I really liked that it was a grass surface with dirt base paths, mound, batters box. Baseball should be played on grass and dirt, not carpet.
Globe Life for every college baseball game I have been to has been very boring and cavernous as stated above.

Also the weather being absolutely amazing for early March in north Texas didn't hurt at all. Especially since the week before we got down to like 16°and stayed below freezing for about two two and a half days.
