Anyone ever reserve a spot and have issues with the short term lot being full?

Never reserved a spot in Short Term but always found one.

Mostly on Level 4 so I don’t have to use the elevator.

Try the other garage to the East of the Terminal (Long Term) if it’s full.

I’ve got an early flight out of MSY tomorrow, will update.

You can check capacity and try to reserve online.

LINK

It gives you current capacity. You can’t reserve within 24 hours.

I managed to find a spot this morning (about 5:00 am) in the Short Term structure on Level 4. There were at least 100 showing open in the entire structure at that time this morning.

any tips on economy lot vs UsPark? USPark

Heard relying on MSY people to get you from the economy lot was a disaster

I flew out during Mardi Gras weekend one time and everything was full so I had to park in economy and take a bus to the airport. Now I reserve a spot in short term or Park n Fly.

You can check online.

I've parked in the economy lot 3-4 times and there's always been multiple shuttles waiting to take you to the terminal.

If you get there 90 minutes before your flight, they can check your luggage there. Not all airlines have offer this, but it's a great convenience if you're worried about the lines in the terminal.

Reserving works fine but if you have a flight change or delay after you make it you are pretty much screwed. One time I did a same day flight change to leave 4 hours later. Arrive at the airport later and the reservation wouldn’t let me in. It becomes a pain but if you know you won’t cancel or change then do reserved.

It's not at all. IMO, it's the second best option behind short term, especially if you're flying one of the airlines (most domestic) that allows you to check your bags right there.

Just used economy for the first time - price was comparable to USPark & the bag check at the garage worked great. Shuttles were plentiful & quick, even with the Saturday-before-Mardi-Gras crowds. Reserve a spot & pay ahead of time and you use the QR code thereafter.

I’d pay the $50 or what ever more it is to park long term right by the entrance
