I've seen this talking point including here on this board, that Vance usurped the president, inappropriately inflamed the conversation and undermined the President in a negotiation.

I dont really get that from watching it back. The things Vance said don't differ from Trumps positions. Trumps body language during the exchange looks like he's content to let Vance play the role of the aggressive truth teller and Trump is the statesman to steer that part into a productive peace lane.

But then Zelenskyy drops that line about how we'll feel the problems of war in the future and Trump then jumps in and decleats him for that shite. Vance and Trump to me don't seem misaligned there.

If Trump didn’t want JD to speak he wouldn’t have had him there at all IMO.

No. Vance was great. I had reservations about his sincerity to the MAGA movement. Not anymore. He won my Vote today. Vance will be a beast in 2028. The suburban moms are already Wet

Doubt it. Logic says it’s more likely that Vance was given a role and was included with the purpose of scuttling the deal.

No. Vance did what needed to be done. The news is the only thing making people think he was even close to being out of line. I watched it live and thought he was restrained. Zelensky was talking over him and Trump like an arrogant brat.

The EU can tweet all they want. Zelensky was 1000% at fault

No, but I think Vance could have been more tactful. Let Trump do the talking. Vance is a great speaker...but negotiation is Trump's wheelhouse

Full disclosure…I wasn’t initially a fan of the Vance pick, mainly because I didn’t think he added anything to the ticket.

I was wrong.

The more I see and hear from him, the more impressed I am. He provides a bit of polish and calm to Trump’s brashness without shying away from the message. Trump likely knows this, and takes advantage of these strengths, which is why he was in today’s discussions.

I don’t remember Kamala ever sitting in on Biden’s global visits, which was likely by design.

Trump has put a lot of media savvy people in his cabinet. That was a big reason he picked Vance. Trump is probably one of the most media savvy people ever in politics. He without a doubt set this up to play out the way it did.

If Trump doesn’t want/gets tired of someone speaking he has no problem cutting them off. We’ve seen it plenty of times over the years.

DJT was perfectly fine with JD speaking up.

That mother fricker came to the executive office of the country that’s given him 350 billion dollars and demanded we back Europe to defeat HIS enemy. And Vance asked him to say Ty, and he wouldn’t. I’m glad V-POTUS said what he did and if trump didn’t want him there he wouldn’t have been there to say it.

Not in this case. This is serious business. Vance was talking sense. He should have said book me a flight over there when Z asked him about going over there.

Vance won me over after his Rogan interview. Very impressive…..for a Millennial.
