Im looking to simplify some rounds with less than 14 clubs and walking with a single strap pencil bag. Some of these bags are 2.5 pounds.

Something like this:

Anyone play this way sometimes?

Kind of harcking back to the origins of the game.

I do. I loop City or Webb after work and time changes. Carry driver, 7i, PW, putter. I have the Ping bag.

Frankly, I'd spend the money you plan to spend on that bag on a pushcart so you can have all your clubs with you and still walk.

This is exactly what I want to do.

I only carry 11 clubs, those bags are cool but if you're gonna do a lot of walking on course I'd recommend a push cart, they are very cool.

When I need to work on my irons contact, I bring a 4i, 7i, 9i and 54 degree out to city park.

Sun Mountain 2.5 is a good Sunday bag

Couple times a year, my group plays a 4 club challenge. It’s a good time.

Not really what you're asking, but you made me count my clubs.

Driver, 3W, 7W, 4i for punching out only, 5i, 6i, 7i, 8i, 9i, PW, SW (52), 64* for actual sand and flops, and putter

13 clubs

I used to walk when younger with a push cart, but will only walk courses that do not allow a cart with a caddie now.

Trying to get me league to do something like this. 5 club challenge.
Would just be something different from what we have done for 24 years.

Just get you a ping hoofer. They're only 5 pounds plus you get the backpack and you can carry 14 if you want to.

I do.

I’ll carry like 9 or 10 clubs and adjust.

Shoot basically the same scores.

I usually bring 2 full bags of clubs and a few extras. In a normal round, I have at least 32 clubs at my disposal. I typically use less than 14 though.

Putter, SW, GW-6i, 5h, 7w, and driver. It wouldn't bother me to ditch the 5h.
