Being 95 is the main contender.

one of my favorites.

I assume it was some sort of suicide. Wasn't dude approaching 100 years?

Yup. Whole house dead, with no (announced) signs of struggle.

One of the more interesting people to make it to his level of the trade.

But him being 95 doesn't account for his wife and dog also being dead.

One of my all time favorite sports movies. RIP Gene.

Most reasonable theory. It even killed the dog.

His wife was only 64. I figure it will be Carbon Monoxide since the dog was also dead. They had been married for over 40 years which in Hollywood is very unusual.

this is my assumption.

Temps in Santa Fe were below freezing the past few nights. noting that He, his wife, and dog all died, i would assume the quiet killer "CO" was the culprit.

I wonder if the wife knew about it.

I am going with carbon monoxide.

Hackman was one of my favorite actors as he always seemed to lean into his roles.

Politically, Hackman was a Democrat that was actually on Nixon’s “enemies” list in the 1970’s, but liked Reagan. I think he remained one of my favorites as he wasn’t out pushing his leftist crap on the populous, at least not to my recollection.

Gene Hackman board.

You’re probably yanking OP’s chain, but I actually like having a few of these tangential, human-interest threads. I don’t want to have to visit 10 boards to see what’s going on.

Good, bad, or indifferent, this board is my tribe.

As long as this board keeps its focus on the main topic, I’m fine with some fluff here and there.

He was almost 50 when Superman came out. That boggles my mind that he was that old then.
