CCI 22 rimfire shotshell usefulness?

I own a pump smoothbore .22 that an old lady gave me. So I guess people used shot enough to make a gun for it.

I don't think so, a .22 mag will just piss a snake off

I shoot Carpenter bees at our barn.Remington .22 pump,fun as hell.

I've killed plenty of Cotton mouths and copperhead with that exact setup.

thats cool, I wonder what the market is? Sparrow shooting? Surely they aren't thinking people are carrying around a long-gun just to shoot snakes at near point-blank range.

I shoot 22 Mag shot shells.
They have killed everything I have shot at under about 5-7 yards. ( Snakes)
They start to open up too much after that.
I load 3 shot shells and three hallow points in my ruger single six. Seems to work.

I should compare the pattern of shot through my smoothbore vs a rifled .22 barrel. Tbh, I've only shot the smoothbore once or twice.

Biggest rattler, 15 and a button, was killed with my 22mag revolver.

22 mag has 1,800 fps and 300ish ft lbs energy, come again? He’s talking about rat shot which is still enough to kill a lot of snakes. 25 downvotes. OB.

While ive never shot a rattler. I keep cci shotshells in my lil.herritage revolver for snakes. Killed tons 1 shot with it.
