What 70's sci fi movies should be remade?

If you're above a certain age, you remember the glut of cheaply made SF movies that popped up after Star Wars, but before Empire Strikes Back occurred. None of them had anything near the production value, they were just riding the wave of popularity. Nonetheless, I think there were some that could have been good, and would be good if remade today with even moderate investment, given the improvements in effects etc.
Here's a couple I remember vaguely, and would like to see redone with a better effort:
1) Message From Space. This was a Japanese movie and I think it had some anime styles in it. As I recall, it had a good bit of adventure to it, and with a solid budget would have been impressive.
2) Battle Beyond the Stars. This was a Roger Corman (thus cheap B- movie) that had some potential. Kind of a Magnificent Seven/Seven Samurai ripoff, in space. Actually had a solid cast for what it was, with Henry Thomas (John Boy from the Waltons) in lead, and with Robert Vaughn, George Peppard, John Saxon, and Sybil Danning in it. I think a similar approach, but with today's standards in filming, it could be very entertaining.
These are just a couple, that clearly pale when compared to Star Wars at the time, that I'd think could be done today and produce something good.

A "good" version of Battle Beyond the Stars (came out in 1980, btw) would totally dismantle what made the first one such a deliciously-awful train wreck.
The Black Hole & Logan's Run are the correct answers.

I'm pretty sure there was some talk of doing a remake a while back, but I guess it never came about.
Even a classic like 'Alien" received a semi-remake in 2017's "Life."

It was remade, do not disrespect LL Cool J and Chris Klein.

For the special effects of the time, I think it was quite good and doesn’t really need a remake.
Logan’s Run suffered mightily from terrible special effects and it’s a great story. Would be great for a remake.
Dark Star would be another good one.

The practical effects in The Black Hole were outstanding. I still get chills at the image of Maximillian in hell with the human eyes from the end.
That main theme still gives me goosebumps different than any John Williams (the GOAT) score.
TIL that the main theme was written by John Barry, who gave us the James Bond theme.

quote:nah, you can absolutely keep the same spirit and tone, but seriously upgrade the effects. It can look good and still be campy or schlocky.

I'd wonder who all you would cast today. Henry Thomas was obviously farm boy/Luke, most of the others were also stereotypes.
