To no one's surprise: Army disregarded physical fitness standards to hit recruitment goals

A new Department of Defense inspector general’s report revealed that the U.S. Army allowed recruits who did not meet qualifications to join.
The report, “Management Advisory: Army’s Future Soldier Preparatory Course Places Trainees At Increased Risk of Adverse Health Effects,” found that recruiters and leadership at the Army Training Center and Fort Jackson admitted recruits with body fat percentages that did not comply with the military branch’s physical fitness requirements and standards. According to the report, 14% of the recruits admitted between February and May 2024 who became trainees in the Army’s Future Soldier Preparatory Course program exceeded “the allowable 8% above the body fat composition limit for initial entry, with the highest being 19%.” The report specified that no waivers were granted for these conditions, meaning these recruits should have never been admitted into the program.

It’s worse than that. I read yesterday that they have evidence that records were destroyed by Army leadership that showed that females in the Ranger training program were given extra chances in training after failing parts of the training program.
Basically the standards were lowered for them just like everyone said would happen.

Wow, they are going to get the real soldiers killed.
No wonder our savages want no part of the US Military right now.
need to turn this shite back into a real mans military.

Rangers in the same class as the women have come out and confirmed that this happened. Re-testing, recovery from period cycle. Really sad that they let this happen. Someone needs to be held accountable...

It is a shame that young Americans are so damned fat, but the Army needs X-number of bodies per year.
If they cannot find enough healthy kids, they do not have much choice but to take the fatties and make them clerk-typists.

I thought this was widely known. The bad thing is that the fitness standards to join are garbage to begin with. I'm pretty sure I could qualify for the standards easily and I'm in my mid-40s.

They can use civilians for some of those jobs. I had an old relative that did 25 years in the Army, retired, then got hired back as civilian basically doing his old job in Supply/Quartermaster and did another 20.

Don't be that idiot that buys into you have to do something and lowering standards is the way.
What needed to change was the woke policies permeating throughout the military. It has no place there.

"What's that in your foot-locker Private Pyle?"
"Sir, A jelly donut, Sir!"
"A jelly donut?!? Are you allowed to eat a jelly donut, Private Pyle?"
"Sir no sir!"
"And why are you not allowed to eat a jelly donut, Private Pyle?"
"Sir, because I'm fat, Sir!"
"BECAUSE YOU ARE A DISGUSTING FAT-BODY, PRIVATE PYLE!"

Hank is wrong again. they have to change the policies that are making healthy kids not want to join. would never have happened under Biden or Harris (they would have likely doubled down on the obviously damaging policies), but fortunately, winds of change are blowing in the DOD right now, and recruiting is already up because of it.

When I grew up on base there would be dozens of flag football, basketball, softball games every single weekend.
Families outside on base. We played solider almost every day in the woods in Fort Bragg.
Cookouts etc. It was great.
Its not that anymore.

it's not like it once was, but it's not as bad as you probably think. there is still a lot of this stuff going on on bases.

Anyone with half a brain already knew this was going on... either the standards were lowered, gender normed, or they were pencil whipped...

and when the standards are too high for females to pass, they get asked the question "well why is the standard so high" and then are forced to provide evidence that the high standard is appropriate, which is of course an impossible task. it's infuriating.

Most people don't know this because it was so long ago, but in times past Fort Bragg and a couple of other US military installations had Tackle Football teams, using helmets shoulder pads, referees - playing tackle football on post - the Soldiers playing tackle football.
And we know that the Army used to have intra-unit Boxing teams that would fight each other.

That brought back a memory. Ft. Benning had a team called the Doughboys and in the 60' and 70's when colleges had freshman teams they would schedule the Doughboys. Watched at AU in 71 when they beat the living crap out of our freshman.
Hell they had 25 year old former West Pointers and guys that had gone through college on ROTC scholarships and served in Vietnam.. Our 18 years got an introduction to big boy football.
