Excited to see the Sphere and the show. Anyone been? Suggestions on things to do in and around the venue?

Prepared to be blown away by the venue. I have not seen the Eagles but saw Dead & Co and it is a great place for a entertainment experience. Speaking of experiences in Vegas, Planet 13 is a must see if you are into that sort of thing,

There is Dallas musician named Chris Holt who is one of the nicest guys you’ll ever meet and a friend of a friend.

He’s a wizard on guitar and someone recommended him to Don Henley to be his son’s guitar teacher. (Don lives in Dallas).

Anyways, Chris has been tutoring his son for a couple years and after a while Don started to ask him to stay after and bounce ideas off of him and listen to demos.

Long story short, when the long time Eagles touring guitarist and backing vocalist Steuart Smith retired late 2024, Don asked Chris to be his full time replacement.

He still cannot believe he’s in the Eagles. Couldn’t have happened to a better guy.

I saw the Eagles at the Sphere. Incredible experience.

You can walk there from the Venetian, as there is a dedicated enclosed walkway. If you are staying at the Venetian, then great. Otherwise, my suggestion is to Uber to the Venetian about 3 hours in advance and eat dinner/have drinks there at one of the many bars and restaurants

Start walking to the Sphere about 1 hour ahead of time, as there can be congestion in the walkway.

Seriously not knocking them, just sharing info! And yes, Henley is a gigantic egomaniac and prick. Meisner had a better voice than Frey or Henley.

if don henley is up there lip syncing to a professionally recorded vocal track specifically engineered to be a “live” vocal, then the ticket buying public needs to know that. I would like to think someone with some integrity (like walsh or gill) wouldn’t be cool with this but I guess the money is too good.

In any event if “the eagles” in 2025 are nothing more than a show band playing to recorded music, then there’s no better place for them to be than in Vegas

Agree completely. There is speculation that Walsh is doing it too, didn't want to be too much of a Debbie downer.

Walsh’s voice at the Sphere was not good. In fact his performances were the worst of the whole band.

If that was a recording then Yikes.

At their age, I really DGAF if they were getting help with tracks.

And Henley played drums on 3/4 of the songs.

certainly your prerogative but thats a no-go for me, for any band or live performer. ad your definition of "getting help" is certainly broad

I don’t believe Walsh was singing to a track, and if Don was, it wasn’t obvious and it was likely for select songs he can no longer hit.

Not ideal, but these guys are nearly 80

I saw a video of Joe Walsh doing Life’s Been Good recently and man it was kind of sad to watch. I’m glad I saw them on the Long Road out of Eden tour where Glenn Frey was alive and they were weren’t super old (about 60) and still had a lot of energy. Wish Don Felder would have been with them but we all know about that.

Walsh's guitar parts are pre recorded. I saw them in Chicago about 4 years ago, and it was obvious.

No they aren’t. In fact the other young lead guitarist plays along with him and covers for him.

Walsh was actually sloppy on the guitar and sang poorly.

I still enjoyed the hell out of it.

Nah. He had a great voice but he doesn't top Henley.

Saw U2 and Dead and Company.

The monorail will get you to the Linq promenade. You can walk from there, it's not terrible, but you'd want to look it up. Otherwise make your way to the Venetian and go from there.

It'll be a good show, even if they are pretending/singing to backing tracks. The venue is the star of the show anyway.

I wouldn't spend a lot of money on it.
