Tv...our 2019 lg bit the dust.
LG was good but I had issues with overall brightness. Dark scenes were too dark..
This time around I want something a bit brighter.
$600 is what I'd like to spend at most..

my 65" 2016 Samsung is going out. I have some bright spots showing up on the screen in a grid pattern. It's still watchable but will eventually need to be replaced.
I've only ever had Samsung and 65" is probably as big as I want to go given my living room size. The Samsung posted earlier from BestBuy looked like a good deal.

My recommendation is to go ahead and move up to the 75". You will NEVER regret it.

OLED is the way if things are dark. You can get a 65" now anywhere from 1100-1300.

Bought a 65" Hisense at Costco for $349, delivery included.
PC Mag says it's the best budget TV that size.

I got an LG 65" OLED last summer. Obviously more than OP is looking to spend, but it's a great tv.

Both my Sony Bravia XRB and Samsung Sound Bar are over 10 years old. The Samsung sucks w/ an audio delay and poor music qualify and the old Sony doesn't allow me many options to correct it (neither does the Samsum). Both were bargains.
I'm thinking of getting a Sonos Beam 2 sound bar w/ a Roam 2 portable speaker. Probably not far off on a new tv.

What happened to the LG? Six years seems quick to crap out. I still have a 2007 Pioneer plasma going strong.

TCL is great and very affordable. I have had mine since around 2020. Built in Roku. I think ther interface is lot better than LG.

I'm not a big TV specs guy but I got a 65 inch Hisense from walmart for like $300. It has Google TV as its smart TV driver and the picture is really good. Would recommend.

Best buy still has a few 2024 65" & 75" under $600. Samsung 6900 or 7200 models are good & run $400-$800. I have the 6900 75" & has been a great tv. It's a 2020 model & shows no signs of dust biting.
I'd stay away from the Chinese crap.

I still have a 2007 Sharp LCD going during. My 2011ish Samsung plasma just went out a couple months ago. Probably could have fixed it but opted just to chunk it

Not to hijack your thread, but does anyone have recommendations for something super responsive? No lag switching apps and scrolling. For reference, my TV is from I believe 2017, so this may not be an issue with any TV’s these days.

Ehh, my wife insists we run the damn thing even when we're gone so the dog doesn't feel alone.
I told her to plug in a radio from nw on..
That tv was probably on 13 hrs a day
