Yes but it’s hard to imagine that we would be on a precipice of revamping all of the existing programs in government. No if the country can get additional back to back terms of another president that has skills and balls not to be bullied by people then we should enter into that golden age as Trump alludes to.

You want me to vote for him again? I worked on his campaign in LA.

In 08 the country was still fairly normal which made the status quo much more attractive. The 8 years of Obama absolutely wrecked this country

I remember having an argument with someone who had been a friend for a while that identified as a conservative Christian Republican
that thought voting for Obama and having a black president would heal racism in this country

I told him it was going to make it much much worse turned into a big fight we never talked and he never bothered to acknowledge I was right

I was working with Christian conservatives much older than myself and we would argue everyday. They'd get so mad. I ran into one about 5 months ago and je told me "you were over the target, we should've listened." I didn't know anything I was just saying what Dr Paul said

There were a lot of those people. I know older folks know this, but for younger folks...elections didnt seem like do or die things back then. Everyone just kind of accepted that Dems were higher taxes, more spending, more union protections etc and GOP did their thing. I remember listening to Rush when he talked about the Dems publicly stating that they werent gonna cater to working class whites anymore. Obama really did launch this country down an insane path.

Even though I voted against him 2x, I did have a bit of nationalistic pride when he won. I had hoped the race baiting would be over.

Honestly, when he had the beer summit, I kinda thought it was a very nice gesture of putting a microscope on a micro issue and making it more human.

Bad economics and foreign policy aside, when he won again in 2012 was the lynchpin to the CF we deal with today. I always say that I don't think Obama endorsed what he brought forward with woke/cancel culture/DEI but his re-election ignited that in his voter bloc.

Regarding Dr. Paul, I 100% would go back and vote for him. He was so obscure for me at the time I wasn't really paying attention to him. I came to really love him around 2014.

As a side note, my parents are lifelong republicans and my mom has been chair of the County GOP, so they have their bonafides. Around 2016, i mentioned I'd rather have a Ron Paul to vote for this go around and he said "that peacenic quack?"

i said, "you had your Bushes, Obamas, Cheney types for 16 years. What did the neocon/neolib behavior get us? Thousands more Americans dead. Millions of Middle Easterners dead. We've lost all sense of balancing the national debt. Tell me what exactly Dr. Paul would have made worse?"

If I could go back in time with what I know now.

I would have crawled through glass after swimming from an overseas military base to VOTE FOR RON PAUL.

So YES!

No. Nothing would have changed. Unfortunately the Libertarian vote was basically a vote for Obama. Sorry, but its true.

havent seen him

He was a big donor on this state rep race I was running

we won

he disappeared

Guy made his money buying small parcels of land and getting cell towers put up on them
he wanted influence in the Legislature to help make that easier

I stayed in contact with the secretary because we would use the land to put up big four by eights over the years and eventually I just didn't need him any more
